That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of Glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power. Ephesians 1:17-19
What a powerful statement of supernatural ability that has been given to us who believe: wisdom, revelation, knowledge and understanding of what our divine calling is and the riches He has bestowed on us to carry it out and the power to perform it. We have been given all things in Christ to be able to walk as He walked and do what He did while He was on the earth.
I am afraid that many in the body of Christ have never received this revelation of who they are and what they as His ambassadors are called to do in the earth. The other morning on the Today Show Alicia Keys sang one of her new songs called "We are here" asking the question, "Why are we here?" To her surprise social media lit up with multitudes asking that very same question! The church of Jesus Christ doesn't need to ask that question because the book of Ephesians gives us the answer of who we are and what we are on the earth to do, something the world struggles with, an idenity crisis, wanting to know who they are and what are they here for.
We are here to represent the Lord Jesus Christ in the same supernatural power and authority that He displayed while He walked the earth, leaving us an example of how we are to follow His lead! In my upcoming message, "Pressing on to Maturity" I deal with the main reason why the body of Christ doesn't know who they are, because they have had their spiritual growth stunted by greedy shepherds, un-trained and mis-guided themselves wanting to keep "their sheep" penned up in playpens of complacency never maturing in the Lord to be able to control and fleece them of their money! If you find yourself in this predicament, escape, and flee for your spiritual lives because you will never be able to grow up into Him in that kind of environment of spiritual child abuse!
That which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named not only in this age but also in that which is to come. Ephesians 1:20,21
