The Divine Blood Line, Part I

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the  good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved. Ephesians 1:3-6

In a the previous series, "NO LONGER I" we learned that when we come to Christ that we follow His example by being crucified with Him to the world, buried with Him in baptism, and resurrected to a new supernatural life, becoming sons and daughters of the Most High God. Transformed from mere humans stained with the sin of Adam as well as our own transgressions we are washed by the blood of Jesus and set apart for the service of the King!

The children of Israel were held in bondage in Egypt for over 400 years, a type of the world waiting for a deliverer, Moses, a type of Jesus to set them free from there plight. The night before their journey they applied the blood of a lamb over their doorposts signifying that they belonged to God and the death angel passed over them just as he does when we are born again and washed in the blood of Jesus. The next day they proceeded to the promised land down to the Red Sea with the Egyptian army at their heels and Moses parted the waters as the pillar of smoke and fire protected them, a type of Holy Spirit anointing, they went down into the sea as the waters stood up as walls on each side, a type of water baptism.

As the multitude came up on the other side they saw that their enemies had been vanquished, a type of deliverance and they were freed from their bondage to begin a supernatural journey into the wilderness following Moses who represents our born again experience following Jesus as our Lord, Savior and provider. In this powerful analogy in the Old Testament we see a picture of what the born again experience is and the journey that follows our death, burial and resurrection into our new life in Christ!

In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins according to the riches of His grace which He made to abound toward us in all wisdom and understanding, having made known to us the mystery of His will according to His good pleasure which He purchased in Himself, that in the dispensation of the fullness of the times He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in Heaven and which are on earth-in Him. Ephesians 1:7-10
