The Angel Bear Project

The Angel Bear Project was founded by my wife Mary Ann over fifteen years ago, birthed out of a desire to help people in need during the holiday season. From the time of it's inception Angel Bear has continued to grow into a full time year round ministry of benevolence.

Over the years we have been able to help thousands of people with food, personal care products and other life sustaining items that we purchase in bulk throughout the year. We have been able to expand our outreach by networking with many other organizations, ministries and churches that partner with us so that we can together reach many more people and programs with vital necessities.

The process to adopt an Angel Bear is to purchase an information card that we use to identify the recipient for $25.00 each which allows us to know how many people we are serving. You can purchase as many as you wish and all donations are tax deductible. The donations provide for all of the items given out and allow us to continue to be able to bless thousands of needy people.

The Angel Bear Project is an outreach of Restoration Training Center. If you would like more information on the project or would like to purchase an Angel Bear, or would like to volunteer or have a fundraiser in your church, fellowship, office, or Sunday school then please contact: Mary Ann Laughlin at or you can send your check made out to: The Angel Bear Project, P.O. Box 162932, Ft. Worth, Texas 76161.

Please pray about supporting this very important benevolence ministry as we continue to expand our outreach to literally thousands of needy individuals and families. Your gifts allow us to cover our modest overhead and to purchase products in bulk in order to be able to give out to those in need. May God bless you!

Blessed is he who considers the poor; the Lord will deliver him in time of trouble. The Lord will preserve him and keep him alive, and he will be blessed on the earth. Psalm 41: 1,2

Yesterday we were so blessed to have our special friends come and help us bag up products for several organizations that we support. Some have been with us for twenty years and some were new and they all did a wonderful job!

This has been an extremely hard year for us as we have had many trials of sickness and financial difficulty, but God is faithful and always comes through! Bless His holy name! Although we are a very small ministry, we are able to accomplish much with faithful brothers and sisters that care about meeting the needs of others!

We want to especially thank Troy Chapman, Missions Director of Genesis United Methodist Church and their church family for helping us for years, providing products, financial support and the use of their facility. May God truly bless them for their assistance!

If you would like to help us reach out to those in need and donate, you can go to our website and use our PayPal account. We look forward to expand and grow with the help of people just like you who support us with prayer and financial assistance. May God bless each and every one of you!

Not that I speak in regard to need, for we have learned in whatever state we are in to be content: we know how to live humbly and we know how to live in prosperity. Everywhere and in all things we have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. Philippians 4:11-13

Ministers of the Gospel of Jesus Christ

This year has been a very trying time for me, physically, mentally and emotionally. Twenty years ago I was diagnosed with an incurable debilitating disease and after finding the right Doctor and medications my father died of cancer. Having taken care of him in our home and having hospice on board is the reason I have such empathy for people living with illness.

Recently my 86 year old mother fell and fractured her arm and hip down in South Texas and we have had to make multiple trips to hospitals and rehabs. She is now in a nursing facility and will probably come up here with us after her rehab. While tropical storm Harvey was swirling around in the gulf Tim left me to go back home while I packed up my mother's apartment. On Friday of that week the storm, now a hurricane hit us and we rode the storm out in the nursing home 30 miles from Victoria.

While in the nursing home God began speaking to me about the patients and nurses, their need and their dedication. There are literally hundreds of small towns in the South Texas area that are desperate for assistance, away from the media coverage and photo-ops! On our way down to see my mother after her fall we dropped off a load of Christmas gifts and personal care products to a local sheriff's department that was in need.

This year Angel Bear will be helping those with cancer and HIV-AIDS  as we have for the past ten years. We will also be helping those afflicted by hurricane Harvey in South Texas. Thousands are still without power and many have lost everything. To accommodate the donations needed of personal care products, toiletries, cleaning products, paper goods, etc. we are opening a warehouse in Ft. Worth where we can ship and receive donations.

Our present need is for donations to help us purchase Gaylords (36"x 36"x 24" cardboard shipping containers) that hold up to 600 lbs. of products that allow us to buy in bulk and saves us hundreds of dollars. A donation of $500.00 will purchase one or sometimes two Gaylords depending on the product. Your gifts and prayers are so important to us and we sincerely appreciate your concern to help in this tragic disaster.

I am presently searching South Texas through local police departments and others for those in need and our goal is to help 1000 people. Any donation is welcomed and appreciated as we look forward to help those in need. If you have any questions please contact me at Donations can be mailed to The Angel Bear Project, P.O. Box 162932, Ft. Worth, Texas 76161 or you can use our PAY PAL account on our website, in any case thank you and may God richly bless you and yours!
