Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every disease among the people. But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd. Matthew 9:35,36
What do you think Jesus is feeling today for the multitudes as they are consumed with all the worries of the world, the deceitfulness of riches, the threat of terror and disease and the fear of those things coming upon the earth? Everywhere you look there is some catastrophic event, sickness and disease as well as all the evil the nightly news can dredge up to bring more depression and fear upon those who watch it, night after night.
It looks like the world is coming apart at the seams and if anyone needed a Savior it is now! We have millions of churches, but no power, billions invested in buildings, but closed six days a week, a harvest of lost souls, but no one is going into the harvest. The hospitals are bulging with the sick infected with everything you can imagine and yet very few are healed. The drug rehabs are also full, but no one is set free, only told they are to recover the rest of their life. Where are the disciples of Christ, those who have given all to preach to the lost, heal the sick, cast out demons and raise the dead?
We have grown too sophisticated to lower ourselves to be servants of God and go to the lost and dying, the sick and infirm, instead we have chosen to attend a ritual once a week and celebrate something that for the most part died two thousand years ago! The once powerful five fold ministry has also chosen the ways of the world, seeking human accolades becoming Dr. so and so, or Professor what's his name instead of apostle, prophet, pastor, evangelist or teacher of the Lord Jesus Christ! Judgment is going to be merciless on a people who claim to belong to Christ and yet have denied His power and have refused to go into His harvest! May God have mercy!
Then He said to His disciples (followers), "The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. "Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest." Matthew 9:37,38
