Supernatural Living, Part VIII

Brethren, join in following my example, and note those who so walk, as you have us for a pattern. For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: whose end is destruction, whose god is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who set their minds on earthly things. Philippians 3:17-19

In order for one to become an enemy of the cross of Christ is to reject its sanctifying work in them, destroying the deeds of the flesh that we all have upon coming to the Lord. As Jesus died on the cross, so we too shall die, if we allow it into our lives to fulfill its destiny and to put to death our worldly deeds and lusts.

The cross comes to us in many ways to tear down strongholds of selfishness, pride, greed and worldliness. Loving the world and its lusts destroys the relationship we have with the Lord and makes us adulteresses before our Husband Jesus. An adulteress is one who takes other lovers, defecting from her husband and goes whoring after the world. The modern day western church promotes this lifestyle by preaching a gospel of selfish ambition, success in this life, and becoming champions of the world, denying the Savior who bought them with His own blood, they heap up treasure for themselves, justifying their rebellion by measuring their spiritual strength by their wealth.

Most today have this worldly mindset having been fed this demonically inspired gospel of self by false prophets and shepherds who have made billions by their best selling books, CD'S and DVD'S planting the seeds of rebellion that leads to Hell and destruction by leading God's people astray by their poisonous teachings.

Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity (ill will) with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself and enemy of God. James 4:4

Your servant in Christ, Tim Laughlin
