Supernatural Living, Part V
But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; who once were not a people, but now are the people of God, who had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy. I Peter 2:9,10
The Lord Jesus Christ through His death, burial and resurrection did away with the necessity of a priest or a mediator to go before the throne of the Most High. We no longer need a human shepherd to lead us or make atonement through the blood of animal sacrifices for us, because we have been purchased by the blood of Jesus, who died to give us eternal life.
When one experiences the new birth through the transformation of the Holy Spirit's power to change us into spiritual beings we become a priesthood of believers and our primary ministry is to go before the Lord and minister to Him. Sounds ridiculous for someone like us to be able or even needed to minister to God, but that is part of our glorious supernatural life, serving in the kingdom of our heavenly Father in constant communion with Him, giving and receiving in a personal and intimate relationship.
The goal of our new life in Christ is to know Him in a personal way and to be like Him as the Spirit of God transforms us from glory to glory, changing us and molding us into the very image of the Christ. Christ in us as the scripture says is our hope of glory, to live and move in the supernatural realm of the kingdom of God as sons and daughters of the Most High.
Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:16
