Standing On The Promises Of God, Part VIII
You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra, the young lion and the serpent you shall trample under foot. Psalm 91:13
According to God's word we as believers have been given all authority over the powers of darkness to bind them with chains and to render them powerless. Jesus gave His disciples (including us) power of attorney to act in His name, to cast out demons, to heal sickness and disease and even raise the dead!
The church of Jesus Christ today is the strongest entity in the world, endowed with power from on high and anointed with His Holy Spirit. They could be a force to be reckoned with, but they don't believe it anymore, they have laid down their supernatural weapons and gifts of His Spirit having been seduced under the spell of the world. They talk of miracles, signs and wonders, manifestations of supernatural proportion but they never act upon it anymore. Church is all about attendance, always learning, but sadly, never able to come to the knowledge of the truth!
The pattern that Jesus gave us is simple and to the point, a man gets saved, is baptized, filled with Holy Spirit power and then the apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers train them, equip them and send them into the harvest! Today, however this process of discipleship has ceased to exist with leadership being more concerned with numbers than with the mission of the church to make disciples of Jesus Christ! If we don't destroy this demonic model of a man-centered, resurrected priesthood and get back to the basics of true discipleship, we will continue to fall into apostasy!
Let the saints (us) be joyful in glory; let them sing aloud on their beds, let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two edged sword (the word of God) be in their hand, to execute vengeance on the nations, and punishment on the peoples; to bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron; to execute on them the written judgment, this honor have all His saints! Praise the Lord! Psalm 149:5-9
