Standing On The Promises Of God, Part II
Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler (trapper) and from the perilous pestilence. Psalm 91:3
God is our deliverer, for as the Word says: "Deliverance by man is in vain, but through God we shall do valiantly, for it is He who treads down our adversaries." The devil is a trapper, always looking for an inroad to snare an unsuspecting soul, as the lions in Africa wait in the bushes looking for the aged, the wounded and the young to pick off, so he also looks for those who are weak and easy to attack!
As the beasts of the earth follow blood trails, so does the devil, looking for those who have been wounded by a person or from a broken relationship so he can move in and overtake them when they are at their weakest point. From experience in ministry I have heard many a story of a woman hurt by a man, but comforted by a woman, who fell into a lesbian relationship, and likewise, men who were hurt by their father, or bullied in school, or even wounded by a broken marriage turned to the gay lifestyle.
We would do well to take these promises from God to heart and watch our steps so that we don't fall into one of Satan's snares. God is our deliverer but He will not stop you when you walk in disobedience, although the Holy Spirit will warn us through the conviction in our hearts. The world is an infiltration course filled with snares and traps set for the unsuspecting and naive to step into, so keep your armor on and your eyes wide open because the devil has come down to you having great wrath!
That they may come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his will. II Timothy 2:26
