Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. Galatians 6:7

Throw a rock into a pond and the ripples go out on their endless journey, commit a sin or speak a word against someone and the consequences go on forever on the pond of life! The world is still reeling from the sin of Adam whose curse has traversed down the bloodlines of humanity!

The consequences of our actions and our words have forever changed millions of lives throughout history and everyone is guilty, from the least to the greatest. From broken hearts to world war, mankind has forged the physical and spiritual landscape of the entire planet! As God has spoken creation into existence by faith, man has destroyed much by the words of his mouth and the actions he has taken!

We as believers have to be careful what we say and what we do because our ripples on the pond of life go out forever! The scriptures are full of stories of men whose words and actions caused serious consequences, some even life threatening to those who refused to obey God's commandments.

For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. Galatians 6:8

Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so you do not do the things you wish. Galatians 5:16,17

Ask King David, a man after God's own heart about the choices he made when he committed adultery with his neighbor's wife, and then killed her husband to cover up the crimes he committed that held a double death sentence!

David's actions held grave consequences that forever changed not only Israel but his family and the lives of all who were around him! David gave the enemies of God: the powers of darkness, great opportunity to rob, kill and destroy, members of his household and those who loved and served him.

The ripples on David's pond followed him to the grave and we would do well to observe his actions so that we don't make the same mistakes in judgment! It is amazing how one little thought of lust made a mighty warrior of God choose to have an adulterous affair and commit murder. Happens everyday, adultery, divorce, murder, rape, theft and every other sin known to man and God by good upstanding Christian men and women! We are all capable of the most heinous crimes against man and God!

Now the works (deeds or fruit) of the flesh  are evident, which are adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of anger, wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in times past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. Galatians 5:19-21

Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit. Proverbs 18:21

The prophet Isaiah saw in a vision, the very throne room of God with the Lord sitting on His throne, the train of His robe filling the temple in Heaven. The angelic hosts were praising the Most High saying, "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of His glory!"

You would expect that a prophet of God would be pure and holy himself, but Isaiah was a man just like us, capable of committing the greatest of sins and transgressions without remorse, but he experienced the very glory of the Most High and the holy Presence convicted him and he confessed, "Woe is me, for I am undone! (destroyed and cut off) Because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts."

We too are a people of unclean lips, with it we bless our God and Father, and with it we curse men who have been made in His image, out of the mouth come both blessing and cursing according to our brother James. These things ought not to be! So, whats on your pond, the faith filled words of life or the judgmental curses spoken against our fellow man? The outcome holds eternal consequences!

Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer. Psalm 19:14
