Prophetic Warnings From A Jackass
And when the donkey saw the Angel of the Lord, she lay down under Balaam; so Balaam's anger was aroused, and he struck the donkey with his staff. Then the Lord opened the mouth of the donkey, and she said to Balaam, "What have I done to you, that you have struck me these three times?" Numbers 22:27,28
The story of Balaam and his donkey reveal the fact that God can speak even through the mouth of a dumb beast of burden. The prophet/seer Balaam was being paid to go and curse Israel for the sons of Moab, the enemies of God, but in the events that followed on the way, the Angel of the Lord withstood them, standing in front of them with sword in hand.
God's prophets are called to speak only that which He speaks, to correct, rebuke, warn or to exhort His people. Balaam on the other hand was sent by the enemy to curse the people of God and was so blind that he didn't see the Lord who would have killed him if he had proceeded. God had to speak to this evil seer though the mouth of a donkey, a common jackass to warn him of impending danger and so it is today, the so-called "Pillow Prophets" are also blind to the coming judgment foretold in the word of God that they have failed to warn God's people of what is ahead.
Could it be that God is using the secular media, Hollywood and the last thirty years of disaster movies portraying the endless effects of earthquakes, floods, hurricanes, tornadoes, wildfires, not to mention hundreds of demonically inspired possessions, contagious diseases, zombies, alien abductions, UFO's and an entire rundown of doomsday preppers, survivalists and shows of all kinds dealing with the coming Apocalypse? If God can use a donkey He can use Hollywood to warn people to prepare their hearts and repent before its too late! I don't think it's a coincidence that so many of these movies have come out at this time in the last days and we need to take these prophetic warnings seriously. I have only seen two movies in my Christian journey that deeply touched my heart and inspired me, Jesus of Nazareth and the Passion of the Christ, both produced by unbelievers and both had great success in reaching millions unlike some of the mush that is produced today.
Now when the donkey saw the Angel of the Lord standing in the way with His drawn sword in His hand, the donkey turned aside out of the way and went into the field. Numbers 22:23
INTO THE STORM
"Behold disaster shall go forth from nation to nation and a great whirlwind shall be raised up from the farthest parts of the earth." Jeremiah 25:32
There is no doubt that many of these disasters around the world have been portrayed on screen for all to see and in real life have wreaked havoc around the globe. In the movie trailer for "Into the Storm" it shows planes and trucks thrown into the air like toys, something we have already experienced here in Texas in tornado alley!
The prophet Jeremiah told of great natural disasters of biblical proportion foreseen in the last days as a warning of impending judgment on the wicked. As sin abounds throughout the world so judgment also abounds, for as a man sows, that he shall also reap! Many today think that all this talk of judgment and end times prophecy is just nonsense, something to laugh about but they fail to notice that it is already here before their very eyes and because of their hard hearts they will perish, not having eyes to see or ears to hear what the Spirit is saying.
We have been desensitized because of all the disasters and catastrophic events portrayed daily on the news and we have become accustomed to the death of thousands of people with little or no sympathy for them because our hearts are hardened. As we approach the "Great Tribulation" spoken of in the book of Revelation and as the powers of darkness are poured out upon the world and the Holy Spirit is taken up, men will cry out for mercy but it will be too late!
Behold the whirlwind of the Lord goes forth with fury, a continuing whirlwind; it will fall violently on the head of the wicked. The fierce anger of the Lord will not return until He has done it, and until He has performed the intents of His heart. In the last days you will understand! Jeremiah 30:23,24
Behold, a pale horse. And the name on it was Death, and Hades followed with him. And power was given to them over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword, with hunger, with death, and by the beasts of the earth. Revelation 6:8
In the book of Revelation it speaks of a pale horse which I believe is riding throughout the earth at this present time with the power to kill millions in these last days. The sword speaks of war, hunger speaks of famine, death is all around us, but what does it mean when it speaks of wild beasts? Many times in scripture wild beasts refer to demonic powers, but I believe in this context of scripture it is speaking of the source of a disease contracted from animals, such as the Ebola virus.
The Ebola virus is the one of the most deadly virus's in the world, believed to come from monkeys or bats and it is now breaking out in western Africa. There is no vaccine nor is there a cure for this vicious killer and most who contract the disease succumb to its deadly sting. In my previous message I spoke of Ebola staring at America from the shores of Africa, but through a series of events chronicled by the nightly news it is now for the first time in America. Will it break out of its containment, only God knows, but it is not the first disease that wiped out most of the population of the planet, remember the Bubonic plague spread by the fleas of rats that killed millions? It is just a matter of time before we experience another outbreak of deadly disease, not if, but when!
There is a new TV series, The Last Ship, a story of a sort of last days Noah's ark, a Navy ship with a doctor on board trying to find a cure for a virus that has killed most of the population of the earth. In this suspenseful mini-series the ship traverses the seas in hope of finding a cure while all the while trying to evade the Russians who are trying to kidnap the doctor. A coincidence, I don't know, but it sure does seem like something for us all to take a hard look at as we examine our spiritual lives and where we are in the scheme of things in these last days!
But the rest of mankind who were killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands that they should not worship demons, and idols of gold, silver, brass, stone, and wood, which can neither see nor hear nor walk. And they did not repent of their murders or their sorceries (drugs) or their sexual immoralities or their thefts. Revelation 9:20,21
