Now David was greatly distressed, for the people spoke of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, (bitter) every man for his sons and daughters. But David strengthened himself in the Lord his God. I Samuel 30:6

The Amalekites invaded Ziklag and burned it with fire and had taken captive the women and children and carried them away, along with their belongings. David's wives were also taken captive and the people, understandably so, wanted to kill him!

We too have an unseen enemy trying to kill us and our families, sent from Hell, the Corona-virus has distressed an entire world with fear, doubt, and unbelief. People are running scared, hoarding food and paper goods, buying guns and ammo and acting like all is lost. But all is not lost and the end has not come, yet!

Like David who was greatly distressed, we too can end up stressed out, fearful and if you listen to hours upon hours of media giving out death tolls and bad news you will end up weak and totally drained! But David knew the secret of strengthening himself in the Lord.

So David inquired of the Lord, saying, "Shall I pursue this troop? Shall I overtake them?" And He answered him, "Pursue, for you shall surely overtake them and without fail recover all." I Samuel 30:8

Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you. I Peter 5:6,7

First of all, quit listening to Dr. Oz, Dr. Drew, Dr. Phil, Oprah, and all the other self-help gurus, they don't know anything but worldly nonsense, "Inquire of God!" and turn off the news! Seek the Lord and ask of Him to calm you down, encourage you and lead you to still waters. He is your Shepherd and He knows what His sheep need!

Set your mind on heavenly things, read, study and meditate on His word, it will strengthen you greatly and drive out the fear and the uncertainty of the situation that the whole earth is experiencing. Remember, we as the body of Christ are all together in this fiery trial and we will overcome because victory is eminent in Jesus!

Jesus said we would have trials, earthquakes, plagues and all sorts of catastrophes in the last days and that there would be many false prophets trying to lead you astray! Ignore them and stand firm in your faith in the fact that Jesus has it all under control!

Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, (life) that brings forth its fruit in its season. Psalm 1:1-3

Be sober, (self-controlled) be vigilant; (watchful) because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world. I Peter 5:8,9

We are supernatural beings and not subject to the fears and threats of the world, having spiritual bodies that are indestructible and impervious to death and decay and even though our physical body is, we have been given weapons and armor to protect it.

The body of Christ will live forever in glory with Jesus and this world will pass away with a roar as we ascend into the very realms of a heavenly kingdom prepared for those who follow Him! While we exist on this earth we are expected to rule and reign over our enemies and conquer the powers of darkness who come to rob, kill and destroy.

As we traverse these paths of glory together we must stay strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might and not our own. Instead of fearing this latest trial of sickness, curse it and command it to be bound and loosed back into pits of darkness from whence it came. Jesus gave us all power and authority to tread upon serpents and scorpions and over all the powers of darkness and nothing shall harm us!

But may the God of all grace who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you. To Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen. I Peter 5:10,11
