"You are those who justify yourselves before men, but God knows your hearts. For what is highly esteemed among men is detestable in the sight of God." Luke 16:15

Jesus rebuked the religious leaders of His day because they were lovers of money and they exalted themselves with the accolades that came with their positions in the temple, just as it is today.

Masters of religion, always learning but never able to come to the knowledge of the truth! Doctors of theology, PhD's and Seminary graduates, climbing the ladder of success to build the biggest churches and fill them with tithers. Ecclesiastical experts in the sacraments of the modern day temples, but devoid of any spiritual revelation that would equip anyone in the ministry of the gospel of Jesus Christ!

Today's High Priests of profit have polluted the world with a perverted gospel of success and prosperity, promising miracles of healing and financial gain if you would give to their ministry. Millions have fallen for their seductive messages that have led thousands into financial ruin and hopelessness while they pad their pockets with the offerings of the poor and fly away in their multi-million dollar jets!

"Therefore, when you do a charitable deed, do not sound a trumpet before you as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory from men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward." Matthew 6:2

What things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ. Philippians 3:7

The apostle Paul, best known for his writing of most of the New Testament could boast of his accomplishments and his religious title being a Pharisee of Pharisees and Hebrew of Hebrews, but he counted them all as dung for the sake of Christ.

Many consider him one of the most famous Christians in the history of the church and maybe that is so, but I believe when at the end of his journey, imprisoned in Rome he was thinking to himself in the darkness of his prison cell of the things he had accomplished, never knowing the extent of his writings that have outsold anything published in all of history, not to mention the countless lives changed by it.

Paul's confidence was in the Lord Jesus Christ and not his own ability or his flesh which had been weakened by many beatings, imprisonments, false brethren, shipwrecks and hardships, all for the sake of Christ. Paul exhorted us all to follow his example and observe his life as a pattern for us to duplicate in our ministry for the Lord.

For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are enemies of the cross of Christ: whose end is destruction, whose god is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who set their mind on earthly things. Philippians 3:18,19

Now the Lord said to Samuel, "How long will you mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Israel? Fill your horn with oil, and go; I am sending you to Jesse the Bethlehemite. For I have provided Myself a king among his sons." I Samuel 16:1

The future king of Israel, mighty warrior, soon to be one of the greatest military commanders in history, a man after God's own heart was hidden in the fields of his father. While the prophet Samuel was inspecting the sons of Jesse to find the chosen king, David was alone in the field watching over the sheep like a good shepherd while his brothers paraded their good looks and strength before the old prophet.

Jesse didn't even include David in the search for God's chosen because he was just a runt, a young kid brother, unworthy to be a king, but Jesse like Samuel was looking at the outward appearance and not the hearts of his sons. God spoke to Samuel saying, "The Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart." Samuel asked Jesse, "Are all the young men here?" So, they sent for David and Samuel anointed this obscure little runt, hidden in the field as one of the greatest kings to ever reign in all the world!

I have observed many self-proclaimed great men of God in my journey, eloquent speakers, intelligent and gifted, popular among the people who worship them, but when you get past the facade of there persona, in most cases you find very little or no anointing. Many don't spend time with God, downloading their sermons from the Internet and little time in prayer, still others are living a lie, addicted to porn and some involved in affairs!

If you are planning to follow Jesus in ministry, steer clear of the organized church crowd who in most cases when they see your zeal will reject you and exclude you from fellowship. I know from experience being deemed, "radical" or tagged as a "deliverance minister" where I became to many churches a "garbage man" taking those they didn't want or didn't know how to deal with through deliverance and seeing them restored! It all depends whether you want the anointing and favor of God or the accolades and friendship with the world, the choice is yours, but if you choose God's way you may find yourself hidden in a field, "The mission field of the Most High!"

Still others had trial of mockings and scourgings, yes, and of chains and imprisonment. They were stoned, they were sawn in two, were tempted, were slain with the sword. They wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins, being destitute, afflicted, tormented, of whom the world was not worthy. They wandered in deserts and mountains, in dens and caves of the earth. "Hidden ones" Hebrews 11:36-38
