To the pure all things are pure, but to those who are defiled and unbelieving nothing is pure; but even their mind and conscience are defiled. Titus 1:15
In my 38 year journey with Jesus I have seen a lot of things and like the insurance ad, I know a couple of things because I have seen a couple of things! One of the things I have seen in over ten thousand hours of deliverance and counseling in ministry is this: "No one ever gets free from the bondage of sin and demonic control unless they are transparent and honest with God!"
Deliverance is really a simple thing if you come clean about all the things you have hidden in the little closets of your heart. You can't dynamite a demon out of a person who is hiding something in his heart, whether lust, or lying, abuse or theft, bitterness or un-forgiveness, unless it is exposed, cleansed by the blood of Jesus and repented of, it will remain!
The Greek word for defilement means to contaminate, to stain, taint or spot, in other words, something has compromised our spirits. We as believers are to be pure in spirit, pure in doctrine, pure in our mind and pure in our flesh. Jesus said that we are to be perfect (complete) as our heavenly Father is perfect!
Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. II Corinthians 7:1
A SPOTLESS BRIDE
That He might present her (His bride) to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish. Ephesians 5:27
We believers are the wife of Jesus, the bride of the King of all kings, we are the apple of His eye and the most prized possession He has! Because of religious tradition and the doctrines of men and demons this has been severely downplayed, meant only as an allegory, but the truth of the matter is the fact that we are His "Soul Mates!"
Would Jesus want a bride who was unfaithful to Him, an adulteress who went out with other men and would He only see her one day a week, or maybe only on Christmas and Easter? Sounds ridiculous but so is most of the religious nonsense that is practiced in His church today by those professing to be believers! Many believe He resides in the sanctuary of their church building, reinforced by greedy shepherds who fleece His sheep and poison His people with false and dangerous teachings.
We wonder why there are few miracles today and why most of our church services are dead and lifeless and the reason is, we have left our first love and gone a whoring after other things that contain no spiritual value! Remember the parable of the sower concerning the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches that choke the word right out of our hearts, they also choke the love for Him out of our lives and we become empty and desolate, just like a husband and wife who have fallen out of love!
Adulteresses! 'Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity (ill will or mutual hatred) with God?' Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. James 4:4
ENGAGED TO CHRIST
For I am jealous for you with godly jealousy. For I have betrothed (engaged) you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ. II Corinthians 11:2
The Jewish betrothal is much different than our Western engagement, whereas the groom, once he and his perspective bride had signed the betrothal agreement he would leave to go and prepare a place for them to live, sometimes taking quite a while. The bride would then wait for her groom to return, not knowing when and would have to remain in a time of readiness when he appeared suddenly to claim his prize!
Like a "Thief in the night" the groom would come to surprise his bride by shouting her name and the blast of the shofar, the trumpet would announce his arrival! So it is with us, the Lord Jesus will come for us, His bride, dressed in readiness and pure as driven snow, He will take us to our eternal home in the heavenlies! We are standing at the very edge of eternity and the Lord's return for a spotless bride is eminent, are you ready?
Have you cleansed your heart in expectation of His return or are you entangled with the things of the world? Have the lusts and pleasures of life captivated your heart or are you a pure and transparent vessel waiting for the "Lover of your soul?" The time has come and the trumpets have been blowing, it is time we cleansed ourselves to meet the Lord as His bride, faithful and true!
Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. I Corinthians 15:51,52
