Beloved, while I was very diligent to write to you concerning our common salvation, I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints. Jude 3
To contend is to strive against rivals and difficulties or to struggle for the faith of the Lord Jesus Christ and His gospel! In this heavy weight division is the defeated foe, Satan, master of disaster, and we are the contenders, fighting an enemy who doesn't know he is defeated!
According to the scriptures the whole world lies in the power of the devil but we as believers have the power and authority to take it back and to rule and reign over all the powers of darkness, even Satan himself! The world would be a very different place if the body of Christ would arise, unify under the banner of the cross and contend for the faith. Empowered with the Holy Spirit and the sword of the word of God we are a formidable force to be reckoned with!
In order to defeat the enemy we have to first engage him on every level of spiritual warfare, allowing no inroads for him to hit us with a low blow, something he is famous for. Satan has showered the church of Jesus Christ with an array of tradition, false doctrine, false prophecy and a man-centered gospel leaving the body weak and blinded from his attacks. Our only hope is to rely totally on the truth of the word of God and the power of the Lord Jesus Christ led exclusively by Holy Spirit's voice!
Will you contend for the faith of Christ or will you shrink away in fear, hiding in a comfortable life not venturing out of the nest to engage the enemy of your souls? The clock is running as we reach the last round and the enemy boasts of his prowess over us, exalting himself and continuing to deceive and defeat the most powerful entity on the planet. Last chance for a knock out or will we settle for a TKO? The choice is yours, "Fly like a butterfly and sting like a bee!"
For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal (of the flesh) but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. II Corinthians 10:3-5
