"This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent." John 6:29

To believe is to appropriate what Jesus has already accomplished for us on the cross. In other words, healing, deliverance, prosperity and salvation have already been given to us when Jesus bled in seven specific places to give us a complete salvation. When we pray for healing we don't have to beg or plead because by His stripes we have already been healed!

Appropriate means to take possession of or to take something by force as though with justification. We have been given the power and anointing that Jesus had when He walked the earth to perform healing, deliverance, signs, wonders and miracles because we have power of attorney given to us by the Lord Himself. We as believers in Christ are the expression of Him in us in the world. We are the only Jesus people will see on the planet this side of a divine visitation or supernatural appearance. The church is the "Body of Christ" and as we unite together in fellowship we have all the power available that the Lord Jesus had in His earthly stay, only now He is our Head leading us to do the work as the Spirit wills.

If we could ever realize the supernatural potential we have been given, the world would never be the same, but would see the glory of God in us. Christ in us, the hope of glory is in actuality the living Lord Jesus walking, talking, living, performing miracles in us, His supernatural organism. Science fiction can't hold a candle to this story of a divine entity indwelling a human body and living His life through those who would acknowledge Him as Lord!

"Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father." John 14:12

"Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you." Luke 10:19

Power of attorney is a legal instrument authorizing a person to act as an agent of another and in this case the word of God is our instrument of authorization. Jesus gave every disciple the power to heal the sick, cast out demons and perform miracles in His name. We have permission to act according to the wishes, will and word of the living God!

The world is in a pitiful state being totally destroyed before our very eyes by the devil because the church doesn't know who she is anymore and has not taken her God-given authority over the powers of darkness! One of the biggest obstacles any believer has is knowing who he is in Christ, and what authority he really possesses. We have been so fragmented by doctrine and selfish ambition that we have lost our way and we no longer have spiritual eyes to see the "Big Picture!" The body of Christ is hidden away in little sheep pens huddled up around some hireling who thinks he's God's gift to the church as he expounds what he thinks they need on Sunday and what will bring them back next week, all the while they sit in darkness forgetting that they are a "Royal Priesthood" of blood bought saints of the Most High God anointed with His Holy Spirit!

The most powerful entity in the universe sits in deception waiting on the last trumpet to sound and take them home to be with Jesus when in actuality they are to be conquering the spiritual realms of darkness and making disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ, something that is almost non-existent today in our religious world of un-belief! New believers are not taught to replicate or multiply, they are taught to invite their friends to the next big event and become what most are today, spectators! We don't see many signs or wonders anymore because we don't believe in the One who performs them and we have forgotten that we are truly sons of God born from above and sent to further the kingdom of our Father.

Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been given to us by God. I Corinthians 2:12

But the natural (carnal, fleshly, worldly) man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. I Corinthians 2:14

The believer's world view should be the same as Jesus viewed it, lost and perishing in sin in need of God's saving grace. We have been taught through tradition and doctrine that we are to be apart of the world system of health, wealth and finance trusting in it's provision and not God's. This is deception for a born again believer to trust the world and not in the provision that God supplies to all who would put their trust in Him.

That is the difference between the fleshly man and the spiritual man, the fleshly man does not have eyes to see the things of the Spirit and the spiritual man has had his eyes and his heart opened to the spiritual realm of the kingdom of God. To believe is to trust and to trust is to walk in the promise that God will fulfill His word and give us the answers to our petitions as we pray and believe to receive. When we step out of our boats of unbelief as Peter did when Jesus bid him to walk on water, something totally impossible for man, but totally possible to all who would believe we will begin to see the glory and power of God manifested in the earth as we step out in faith and take God at His word!

God's will for His body is to walk this earth as Jesus did, performing signs, wonders and miracles, testifying of the power of God and making replicas of Jesus. The devil has convinced the modern day church that God doesn't do miracles anymore and that it is foolishness to trust Him for healing when medical science has all the answers to man's ills! Nonsense! Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever and His word stands today as it did in former times. The work of God is to trust and believe and as the apostle Paul said, "I fight the good fight of faith!" When you take a stand to believe is when the fight begins and the devil comes to defeat you in your faith, but praise be to God because the victory has already been won!

That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power. Ephesians 1:17-19
