I beseech (urge) you therefore brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Romans 12:1,2

Imagine an old house fallen into disrepair and in order to bring it back to its former state it must be totally renovated. So it is with the human mind, when one becomes a born again, new creation in Christ his mind must be renewed, or as the Greek word describes, renovated. To become a living sacrifice as the above mentioned scripture says, one must give himself totally to God and the process of transformation begins along with the renewing of the mind.

I like to think of renewing the mind as being brain-washed, having your brain washed by the blood of Jesus and by the transforming power of the revelation of the scripture. When we come to the knowledge of the truth and become born again, our minds are still filled with the things of the world and we are led by the five senses and our own understanding because we have become conformed to the world view. The kingdom of God is a supernatural place that believers enter when they come to Christ and their spiritual man lives in this new world that is governed by the Holy Spirit, where they are no longer bound to the earth's natural form and function. On earth as it is in Heaven as the scripture states is in actuality Heaven invading earth.

Talk about "War of the Worlds," the two kingdoms are diametrically opposed to one another, one being of the flesh and the other being of the Spirit. The spirit man must learn to be led by the Holy Spirit, having his mind renewed to the things that pertain to supernatural living while he is being transformed into a spiritual being from another world. Like a worm to a butterfly, all things become new in this supernatural metamorphosis that is taking place in the mind and body of the believer.

Therefore, if any man is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. II Corinthians 5:17

I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary (opposed) to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. Galatians 5:16,17

When one is born from above the Holy Spirit takes up residence within his spirit and a spiritual man is birthed and begins to learn to live within his fleshly host. As the new man feeds on the word of God his mind begins to be transformed into the mind of Christ, or in other words he begins to think like Jesus thinks and begins to form a new world view.

All of a sudden the things of the world begin to dim in comparison to the things of the kingdom of God and as the spiritual man is drawn to the supernatural realm, the old man, or man of flesh begins to war with him wanting preeminence. The spirit man has to learn how to walk in the spirit and keep the flesh under control in order to live and grow without being hindered by his human body. The key to the spiritual life of the believer is to surrender to the leading of the Holy Spirit and allow his flesh to be crucified by resisting the deeds or works of his fleshly nature, and as the flesh suffers, the life is choked out of it and it dies, as a branch cut from the vine.

Walking in the Spirit is a life of obedience to the leading of Holy Spirit and discipline in regards to the study and meditation of His word, without which, he will starve his spiritual man and become weak in the things of the Spirit. As the old man is put to death with his fleshly desires and lusts the spirit man grows into a mature man of God, rooted and grounded in His word and strengthened with all power by the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit.

And those who belong to Christ have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Galatians 5:24,25

If you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. Colossians 3:1-3

Think about what you are thinking about and take an inventory of those things that inhabit your thought life. Are your thoughts about the kingdom of God or are they worldly, lustful and evil thoughts that consume you with pride, greed and selfish ambition?

You have heard the expression that someone is too heavenly minded to be any earthly good, but being heavenly minded is what we are to be, not worldly minded, by setting our thoughts and affections on the things of this world. We are spiritual beings who according to Colossians 1:13 have been transferred into the kingdom of the Son of His love. We are seated in heavenly places serving a supernatural God who has transformed us into His ambassadors to expand His kingdom on earth.

True repentance is changing your mind about the things you think about, whether heavenly or worldly, we are to have the mind of Christ and to think like He thinks. His mind was stayed upon the kingdom of His heavenly Father and the work set before Him to do, to expand the kingdom, and to set the captives of sin free by the shedding of His blood. If the church of the Lord Jesus Christ would set their mind and heart to change the world instead of building their own kingdoms of flesh they would truly see Heaven invade the earth with His glorious presence!

Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, (minds) you double-minded. Lament and mourn and weep! Let your laughter be turned into mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up. James 4:7-10

"Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. "For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened." Matthew 7:7,8

The simplicity of God's word sometimes hinders us because we find it hard to believe that He will in fact answer our prayer and give us our requests. Remember, God is not a cruel taskmaster and He has hidden in His word great and magnificent promises and treasure for us to seek out in our endeavor to reach Him. God is a loving Father that enjoys waiting for His children to find that which He has hidden, so that we can experience the mysteries of His kingdom!

In order for one to ask, seek and knock one has to believe that God is a rewarder of those who take Him at His word in faith and trust Him to do that which He has promised. The word says that nothing shall be impossible to him who believes and with these three keys we have access to a vast array of answers to our prayers. Nothing shall be impossible covers a lot of ground and opens for us a treasury of the faithfulness of God. God has given the body of Christ the same promises that Jesus stood on when He walked the earth and displayed great works of faith by using these three keys that open to you the greater works that He promised to those who believe.

We as the people of God should be turning the world upside down by believing God to do great and mighty things because of our prayers and faith in Him. The word of God is full of the testimonies and stories of great men and women of faith who accomplished miraculous things, people just like us who chose to step out and believe.

"Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? "Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a serpent? "If you then, being evil know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in Heaven give good things to those who ask Him!" Matthew 7:9-11

"Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in Heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in Heaven. "Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in Heaven." Matthew 18:18,19

There is not a lot of instruction available in order for one to bind and loose, but by faith and the leading of Holy Spirit one can accomplish much by appropriating it in your prayer life. To bind is to tie up, and to loose is to untie, but what has to be discerned is what you are binding and what you are either untying, or loosing into a situation. For instance, when you bind a sickness and send it away, you then must loose healing in it's place thereby replacing the bad with something good.

The prayer of agreement is one of the most powerful weapons in the arsenal of God, available to us for the destruction of strongholds, healing the sick and casting out demons just for a starter. Jesus sent His disciples out in two's in order for them to have agreement and to double their strength in prayer. This practice led to one hundred twenty of them coming into one accord and the results were astounding as the Lord filled them with His Spirit and gave them a harvest of 3000 souls. Being of one accord is likened to a symphony of musicians playing a song in which all are in tune with one another and it produces a beautiful sound, but if just one is out of tune everyone immediately knows it.

If the body of Christ would ever get a hold of this and agree together to begin to harvest the earth in one accord instead of competing with one another to see who is bigger or better or who has more truth or power or finances, we would see a great revival sweep across the earth, ushering in the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ and with it, the kingdom of Heaven on earth! There is strength in numbers!

"For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am in the midst of them." Matthew 18:20

Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing psalms. Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will deliver the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins he will be forgiven. James 5:13-15

God has provided benefits for His people who take Him at His word and stand on His promises. Healing, deliverance, provision, miracles, signs and wonders are available to those who believe! Jesus said that nothing would be impossible to him who believes and as He instructed His twelve to go, He has also sent us into the realm of His kingdom to pray and believe Him for great and mighty things.

After Jesus was resurrected He found His disciples sitting at the table in unbelief and He rebuked them because they did not believe those who had seen Him after He had risen. He then reaffirmed His commission to them to go into all the world and do the same things He had done while on the earth! We have been given all the benefits of the kingdom of Heaven here on earth, to heal the sick, cast out demons and to perform greater works of signs, wonders and miracles than even the Lord Himself did.

The prayer of faith is our entrance into the kingdom of God where all things become available to those who ask, seek and knock. The treasure chest of God is open to His children to come and partake of His favor and blessing and to delight in the desires of the heart and to receive all that is our divine inheritance on earth as it is in Heaven!

Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous man ( or woman) avails much. James 5:16
