Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. Ephesians 6:10,11

In this final chapter of Understanding Fallen Angels and Demonic Spirits, obviously I have only scratched the surface in regards to the volumes of information available to us in the word of God and whether you see the distinction between angels and demons doesn't really matter. What matters is the fact that we as the body of Christ are at war with the powers of darkness and with our old nature that tries to resurrect itself and defeat that which God has planned for our lives!

Even the world sees the supernatural battle being waged between good and evil and though they don't understand, they know that there is something behind all of this violence and wickedness around the globe. With the advent of this new demonically inspired terror cell, ISIS, and the threat of a global pandemic, Ebola, the deadliest virus on the planet, the church needs to rise up and prepare for the greatest spiritual war this planet has ever seen! This is not the time to sit in fear and complain about what the government has or hasn't done because this is a supernatural event requiring the true army of the Lord of Hosts to arm herself and fight against the powers of darkness.

The end of all things is upon us, the last generation of blood bought saints, destined to take authority over our enemies and put them under our feet. This is our watch, our battle, even though the Lord Jesus Christ has won the fight, nonetheless we are to shake off the bonds of religion and the spirit (demon) of Laodicean complacency and war with our enemies and fight for the souls of men and women perishing in the fray. All Hell is breaking loose around us while we sleep through another sermonette, should we not join the greatest battle of all time and truly fight the good fight of faith?

For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Ephesians 6:12

Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Ephesians 6:13

The evil day is upon us and unless we prepare for war we will be swept away with the flood described in Revelation 12:15! We are living in perilous times with danger on every side and the powers of darkness are swarming around the globe taking ground that doesn't belong to them and all the while the most powerful entity in the world sleeps.

The church of the Lord Jesus Christ is the only One to defeat the enemies of God but she languishes in her bed of complacency totally oblivious to the chaos raging just outside her stained glass cathedrals. An apostate army who has abandoned their duty and loyalty to their King sits in the barracks, untrained and ill equipped to fight while millions suffer, die and descend into a hellish eternity without ever hearing the gospel of their salvation!

Judgment will be merciless for leaders who refused to train, equip and send this great army out into battle, but instead played silly games, read them bedtime stories and lulled them into a sermon induced coma, never intending to deliver the truth that is able to set them free! A prime example of what will happen to the church is being played out for us on the nightly news as ISIS, the demon possessed army from Hell who appeared on the scene almost overnight because America ignored the problem and didn't see fit to attack them, but relied on Iraq instead, an untrained and miserably equipped militia.

And the dragon was enraged with the woman, (the church of Jesus Christ) and he went to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. Revelation 12:17

But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. 2 Peter 3:10

I personally don't see the western church making it out alive this side of a major Holy Spirit invasion or tribulation that will drive them to their knees, because they simply don't need God. Sodom and Gomorrah weren't destroyed exclusively for immorality, they were wiped out because of pride, selfishness and abundant food and they were not concerned for anyone but themselves.

The word of God instructs us to take up our God given armor and prepare for war! We would do well to take to heart that which the Holy Spirit is speaking through the instruction and encouragement of the scriptures. Christianity is not a spectator sport as many have been deceived into thinking, it is a formidable fighting machine when trained and equipped to war with the powers of darkness and to take back the kingdom that has been stolen from us by the devil himself!

Stand and fight with all of your might should be the order of the day in this sin ridden world being destroyed by the hordes of Hell. Take up the weapons of war and the armor of God and put your enemies where they belong, under your feet!

Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints. Ephesians 6:14-18

For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries. Hebrews 10:26,27

There is no forgiveness for willful sin, only judgment until one repents and turns away from it, just as God has said that if you don't forgive you will not be forgiven. Jesus shed His blood to cleanse us of sin and when we are born again we are washed from all iniquity and transgression being forgiven all of our previous sins and from that time if we sin He is faithful to forgive us and cleanse us again as we confess and forsake that which we have committed.

The wages of sin is death, and throughout the word of God are examples of the effects that willful sin had on men who refused to repent. For instance, King Saul, the first king to rule Israel was commanded to destroy the Amalekites, a type and shadow of the old self life that we are to put to death today. The prophet Samuel delivered the command of the Lord to utterly destroy Amalek: women, children, infants, nursing babes and all of their livestock. The command was simple and direct, but Saul only partially obeyed and kept the best of the spoils for Israel and much of the livestock for sacrifices to the Lord and captured Agag, the king of the Amalekites.

Samuel was appalled at the Monarch's behavior because he had failed to carry out the commands of the Lord and destroy Israel's enemies even though Saul was rejoicing over his great victory. Samuel approached the king and proceeded to deliver the news that the kingdom would be torn from him and given to a man who was better than him, the man being the shepherd boy David. The words of the old prophet brought sorrow to Saul but he was only sorry that he got caught like many of us when we are convicted of sin. Samuel then demanded that Agag be brought before him and he took a sword and proceeded to hack him to pieces in the presence of the Lord. As you can see the consequences of willful sin can be a deadly endeavor for those who put the Lord to the test.

"Has the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed than the fat of rams. For rebellion is of the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the Lord, He also has rejected you from being king." I Samuel 15:22,23

But the Spirit of the Lord departed from Saul, and a distressing spirit (demon) from the Lord troubled him. I Samuel 16:14

Saul had disobeyed the command of the Lord, refusing to destroy his enemy, Amalek and the judgment of God fell upon him as the Holy Spirit was taken away and an evil spirit from God was sent to torment him. Willful disobedience is a serious offense requiring one to examine closely his heart before proceeding to walk in unrighteousness. Demon spirits carry out the judgment of God and they are controlled by Him as His instruments of indignation.

Throughout the Old Testament are examples for us today that we as Israel do not lust after evil things and walk in purity and holiness before the Lord. Thousands of God's people were destroyed for willful sin and disobedience and they were only dealing with the blood sacrifice of animals, we are dealing with the precious blood shed for us by the Lord Jesus Christ Himself! From the sin of Achan to the rebellion of Korah are prime examples of judgment falling upon the heads of those who sinned against the Lord. Remember what happened to Israel was a type and shadow for us as believers in Christ to not only follow, but obey!

Saul became totally demonized and raged against his servant David trying to kill him and from that time onward pursued him until he perished in battle along with his son Jonathan after consulting a witch instead of the counsel of God. We would do well to take heed to this valuable history lesson in obedience and walk in repentance before the Lord lest something worse comes upon us.

And so it was, whenever the evil spirit from God was upon Saul, that David would take his harp and play it with his hand. Then Saul would be refreshed and well, and the distressing spirit would depart from him. I Samuel 16:23

Anyone who has rejected Moses law dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common (unclean) thing, and has insulted the Spirit of grace? Hebrews 10:28,29

What the above mentioned scripture is talking about is the fact that under the law of Moses if you were accused of working on the Sabbath and it was confirmed by two or three witnesses, as in this case picking up sticks to make a fire and cook food, it carried a death sentence! If that's not a serious offense it goes on to say that trampling the blood of Jesus underfoot for us today carries a much worse punishment and insulting the Holy Spirit would border on blasphemy!

Many today think that all of the judgment on sin, demonic possession and the anger of God was "Old Testament" and passed away, leaving a God up in age, mellowed out and just wanting to throw blessings at His children, never paying attention to their behavior, but that is not true! Today we are dealing with the shed blood of the Son of the living God whose anger has subsided for those who have been cleansed by it, but for those who count the blood of Jesus as unclean, judgment and retribution await! Through out the New Testament God's judgment has fallen even on the saints for disobedience and willful sin.

The great apostle Paul was given a "thorn" in his flesh, described as a cruel messenger of Satan to buffet him because of pride, Judas committed suicide for betraying the Lord, the devil spoke out of Peter in an outburst of selfish ambition, Ananias and Sapphira were killed for lying to the Holy Spirit, the boy who slept with his stepmother was turned over to Satan for the destruction of his flesh and in Matthew 18:32-35 a man was turned over to the tormentors (demons) for unforgiveness!

It is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God. Hebrews 10:31

Now these things became our examples, to the intent that we should not lust after evil things. I Corinthians 10:6

It is my understanding from years of experiencing the deliverance of hundreds of people that demons entered them because of sin, disobedience and generational curses being sent as the wrath and indignation of a holy God. In the above mentioned scripture the apostle Paul is addressing the Corinthian church explaining the consequences of willful sin and disobedience to God and using Israel's rebellion as an example for us today.

In Paul's dissertation he explains that Israel committed acts of immorality and consequently, twenty three thousand fell dead in one day and he also said that they tempted Christ, or in other words they put Him to the test and were destroyed by serpents and if that wasn't bad enough they were destroyed by the destroyer for complaining. As you can see the results of sin is truly death and the warning to resist evil is for none other than us! The Old Testament is a type and shadow for us to follow and learn from the consequences of Israel's disobedience and the subsequent anger of God that was administered by their enemies who were a picture of the powers of darkness coming upon today's sons of disobedience.

Throughout Israel's history they battled their enemies as they were commanded by God to drive them out from their land. In I Corinithians 3:9 God says that we are His field or land and just as Israel was ordered to run the enemies of God out, so we too have the same instruction to drive out the powers of darkness from our fleshly bodies. Demons are attracted and attached to sin and disobedience and enter the body to ultimately set up a stronghold and eventually destroy their host. In other words when an animal is wounded and leaves a blood trail, the predators pick up the scent and eventually catch up to their prey and attack, so it is with demon spirits, they follow people who are in sin, have unforgiveness, (Ref: Matthew 18:32-35lust, hate, addiction or any other form of disobedience to God, giving them an open door to possess their prey!

Now all these things happened to them as examples, and were they written for our admonition, (instruction) upon whom the ends of the ages have come. I Corinthians 10:11

The things which the Gentiles sacrifice they sacrifice to demons and not to God, and I do not want you to have fellowship with demons. I Corinthians 10:20

Again the apostle Paul is instructing the Corinthian church to beware of idolatry and to flee from it lest they become sharers with demonic spirits. He then explains the act of communion or sharing of the body and blood of the Lord Jesus and how it relates to one becoming a sharer in something he is making sacrifice to, either the Lord in communion and worship, or to demons by giving to an idol. An example of how we sacrifice to demons would be drug addiction, giving our money or offering to a drug dealer and then injecting the purchased product into our arm, thus becoming a sharer with a spirit of sorcery.

The Greek word for sorcery is pharmakia where we get our modern word for pharmacy, meaning sorcery by drugs or in medieval times, witchcraft and potions. Contrary to popular belief, drug addiction or alcoholism is not a disease it is sin and sin can only be dealt with by repentance and the blood of Jesus. I want you to understand how demons enter people and how they are expelled because this is what a large part of the ministry of Jesus consisted of, casting out demons from people who had acquired them through disobedience, either their own, or by a generational curse coming through the blood line of their unfaithful ancestors! Keep in mind that Paul was not speaking to unbelievers, he was speaking to born again blood washed saints of God giving them warning that Christians can also have demons!

Again, contrary to popular belief and traditional doctrine Christians can have demons, but how you say since we are the temple of God and the Holy Spirit resides in us. The same way He resided in the Jewish temple in the holy of hollies while the sons of the devil, as Jesus called them were running it as priests. The Holy Spirit resides within our spirit and demons inhabit our flesh, just as a Christian can be sick or have a spirit of infirmity. The late Derek Prince, well known Bible scholar and minister of deliverance was once asked if a Christian could have a demon, he responded by saying, "A Christian can have anything he wants!"

You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons; you cannot partake of the Lord's table and the table of demons. I Corinthians 10:21

The noise of a multitude in the mountains, like that of many people! A tumultuous noise of the kingdom of the nations gathered together! The Lord of hosts musters the army for battle. They come from a far country, from the end of Heaven, the Lord and His weapons (instruments) of indignation, to destroy the whole land. Isaiah 13:4,5

The prophet Isaiah is prophesying of the anger of God being administered by an army of demonic powers sent to destroy the land. The wrath of God is being carried out against the wicked for their iniquity and the arrogance of the proud in the day of the Lord. In this context of scripture he is not talking about an army of believers, because we are not sent to destroy but to plant, he is speaking of an army of demons also mentioned in Joel 2:1-11, a demonic hoard sent to destroy everything in their path leaving a desolate wilderness!

There has been gross misunderstanding by preachers and teachers about God's army in the book of Joel and it describes them as locusts, something believers are never called or referred to because we are called to restore what the enemies of God have destroyed. In the very first verse in Joel 2:1 is a warning from the Lord to sound an alarm for His people to fear the coming of the day of the Lord or the day of judgment on the ungodly. For your own enlightenment do a study on the day of the Lord and see if your fear of God level goes up and your understanding of His wrath revealed to you so that you will understand why the earth is being destroyed by the powers of darkness before your very eyes!

Take for instance, Isis, the new kids on the block of terror and tell me who you think is controlling them and what do you think they are sent to do. In the last days the terror of the Lord will come and destroy the whole land bringing about fear and dread, the likes of which no one has ever seen and the destruction it will bring will be unprecedented. In 1741 Jonathan Edwards, a British Colonial Christian preached a sermon titled: "Sinners in the hands of an angry God" in which he describes the spiritual condition of the lost in regards to their fate if not found repentant at the judgment seat of the Most High! Their foot shall slide in due time was the central theme of his sermon, meant to bring about the fear and terror of the Lord on a people steeped in sin and hardened to the truth of God's word in respect to His wrath because of their disobedience and their appointed doom, being cast down into eternal damnation! The results of this powerful sermon brought about such fear of judgment that people grasped anything they could to hold onto in order to escape slipping into the bowels of Hell!

Knowing therefore, the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are well known to God, and I also trust are well known in your consciences. II Corinthians 5:11

And war broke out in Heaven: Michael and his angels fought with the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought, but they did not prevail, nor was a place found for them in Heaven any longer. Revelation 12:7,8

The book of Revelation describes the expulsion of Lucifer, the arch angel of light and his angels of darkness being cast out of Heaven to the earth by the warrior prince, Michael and his angels. It did not say that the dragon and his demons were cast out, but angels, making a distinction between angels and demons.

In the above mentioned scripture the Greek word for angel is aggelos both for the good and bad angels, meaning messenger and not demon which in the Greek is daimon or devil meaning a supernatural spirit with a bad nature. Nonetheless they are both bad news for anyone taking them on, which by the way is held strictly for the church as a whole when engaging with fallen angels. It is a dangerous thing to engage a principality or a power by yourself even though you have the authority because the counter attack that will follow in most cases can prove deadly!

Don't get me wrong, fallen angels and demons both have a mission to rob, kill and destroy but we need to understand their authority structure in order to effectively engage them in warfare and defeat them in the Name, power and blood of the Lord Jesus Christ! Spiritual warfare was given to us as the saints of God and sadly there is not much written to instruct us about how we are to engage the enemy other than trusting God and taking up the weapons of our warfarethe armor of God, and the power and leading of the Holy Spirit.

So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. Revelation 12:9

Now when the dragon saw that he had been cast to the earth, he persecuted the woman who gave birth to the male Child. Revelation 12:13

I believe the specific mission of fallen angels is to war against the saints of God as Satan, the dragon immediately tried to do by bringing persecution on the soon to be body of Christ, the assembly of the righteous. From day one at Pentecost up until now Satan and his angels have fought the church for dominance and sadly for the most part have prevailed because of our division and denomination that has weakened us greatly in regards to warfare.

The garden of God was given to man to have dominion over and to cultivate and to be fruitful and multiply all that was given by the Most High. Satan's first attempt at taking it for himself was a success because of Adam's inability to war against this prince of darkness and subsequently gave our rightful possession to him and caused all of mankind to fall into sin inherited from Adam thus causing our need to be saved and redeemed by the blood of Jesus!

Today the world is controlled by these principalities and powers and the entire domain of the earth has been divided up among them, giving entrance to drug addiction, abortion, sickness, disease, destruction, war and false religions, cults, the black arts and witchcraft, leading mankind into gross immorality and idolatry! Ask yourself a question, "Is the earth controlled by the true church of Jesus Christ or is it dominated by the powers of darkness?" You can see the answer to this question on the nightly news where violence, rape, accidents, sickness, immorality, murder, suicide, kidnapping and robbery abound being unrestrained by the church of God! Where righteousness was intended to prevail, now destruction and death have ruled the world!

And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. Revelation 12:17

For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. II Corinthians 10:4,5

A stronghold is what it is, a strong hold in a person or on a domain controlled either by a demon in a person or a fallen angel over a territory or domain and must be pulled down by the power and authority of the Holy Spirit given to those who believe and act in the name of Jesus Christ! Jesus spent much of His earthly ministry casting out demons and setting the captives free from the bondage of sin and death as well as confronting fallen angels in His temple, the Roman empire and even in His own disciples, Peter and Judas!

The church today has all but forgotten the authority that Jesus gave them over the powers of darkness and the ministry of deliverance is much too messy for the big tithers to endure. This is why the world is in the shape its in because the body of Christ has not and evidently, will not take their rightful dominion over the enemy! Fallen angels and demonic spirits have wreaked havoc on the planet having a literal field day robbing, killing and destroying all that God created and gave to us to occupy till He returns.

So, who's controlling your life, livelihood and family, the Holy Spirit or the powers of darkness? Are there strongholds in your heart that have refused to leave because you have not confronted them and have allowed them to stay until they end up killing you? If the answer is yes to these very important questions, then do this: ask the Holy Spirit to shine His spotlight of holiness into the dark recesses of your heart and then ask Him to set you free and deliver you from that which has set up a stronghold in your life! The power, the authority and the dominion has been given to us who have taken the Lord at His word and believed!

And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their life to the death. Revelation 12:11
