"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed (disheartened) for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go." Joshua 1:9

God spoke these words to Joshua after Moses died and commissioned him to lead His people. The enemies of faith are fear, doubt and unbelief and to defeat them one must be of great courage without which the battle cannot be won. These three weapons are the most powerful against the saints in Satan's arsenal and he has not changed his tactics since the garden of Eden and with them he has brought down many a mighty man of God!

Fear, doubt and unbelief are the opposite of faith and they render us powerless against the devil and his many schemes to keep us under his control in order to totally demoralize us and weaken us to the point of hopelessness. Jesus dealt with the enemy with the word of God and defeated him at the cross in which he was rendered powerless against the believer, left with only one option: deception! Like a roaring lion without teeth the devil has only deceit, deception and lies to try and defeat you and that's why he is called the father of lies.

Remember in your quest to follow faith that when fear, doubt or unbelief come against you it is only a lie from the devil, be strong and of good courage and keep the word of God fastened to your heart in order to defeat the powers of darkness and fight the good fight of faith! Never let your guard down especially at night when the deadly pestilence comes stalking it's prey and you are tired and weary of the battle, never waver in your faith, God is always faithful and He will never leave you nor forsake you.

"And the Lord, He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed." Deuteronomy 31:8

The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? Psalm 27:1

Fear is the opposite of faith, it is an unseen enemy that comes to destroy that which you are believing for. Fear is a spirit that will try and convince you that God doesn't really exist, or if He does He doesn't care for you or is unconcerned for your welfare, after all you haven't prayed enough, read your Bible enough or gone to church enough to gain His favor.

David was a man like us, a shepherd sent by his father to tend the family's flock of sheep. He spent many hours under the stars guarding the sheep with his sling warding off predators and even killing a lion and a bear. His accuracy with the sling was formidable and his confidence with it, deadly! David was not only a skilled warrior, he was a man after God's own heart, spending many days and sleepless nights praising and worshiping God and he trusted Him with his very life. Being the insignificant son in a family of strong boys David wasn't even recognized when the prophet Samuel came to anoint the future king of Israel.

After Samuel went down the line of Jesse's fine upstanding boys he couldn't discern the man that God had already chosen to be king so he asked Jesse if that was all of his sons? Jesse answered him saying that he had one more son tending his sheep out in the fields so the old prophet said for him to send for him at once. Immediately on David's arrival Samuel knew this was the one God had anointed to be the greatest of all the kings of Israel, a leader and commander and fearless warrior that would ultimately defeat the enemies of God! The hour of testing was upon him and the first and one of the greatest battles of his life was about to begin.

David was sent to the battlefield to bring supplies of food to his brothers who were in the midst of war with the Philistines who had all of Israel shaking in their boots with fear. Their champion, Goliath was taunting the armies of Israel challenging them to send him a man to fight and the loser would become the winner's slave. David heard his cries and immediately went to accept the giant's challenge in the midst of his own brother's disdain for him, nonetheless he continued on down the hill to meet this monster warrior who was trained from his youth, a nine foot giant of a man who intended to take David's head from him. David took his sling after choosing five smooth stones and in the midst of the enemy's verbal abuse trying to incite fear on his young challenger, David hurled his first stone hitting the giant square between the eyes and when he fell he took Goliath's sword and cut off his head.

One would think it a lack of faith for David to take five stones with him to battle, but Goliath had four brothers and he intended to kill them all! What confidence in God for a young boy and a sling to defeat one of the greatest of warriors of all time and as a result of his attack on their champion the Philistines ran in fear of Israel and scattered like rabbits. The moral of this story of faith is David's confidence in the word of God in the midst of a type and shadow of a major principality of fear, namely, Goliath, David representing the church of the living God and the five stones, the fivefold ministry that is to equip the saints to battle and defeat the greatest enemy of faith, the spirit of fear!

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and love and a sound mind. II Timothy 1:7

Say to those who are fearful hearted, be strong, do not fear! Behold your God will come with vengeance, with the recompense of God; He will come and save you. Isaiah 34:4

The shield of faith will quench the fiery darts of the enemy that he sends against our mind to breed hopelessness. The sword of the Spirit: the word of God can then be used to tear apart the lies of the enemy sent to demoralize you and bring you to a place of anxiety in which you are then rendered powerless against the devil's schemes. Many a saint of God live in the bondage of fear, denying even God's power and promises, they turn to the world and sink further into hopelessness.

Our struggle is not against flesh and blood, we war against the powers of darkness and the weapons of our warfare are divinely powerful for the destruction of strongholds. A stronghold of fear is built up in the mind of man and continually denies God's power until the Word and the Spirit supernaturally break the chain of lies and set the person free from his captivity. We are instructed to take every thought captive, discern where it came from and if not of God command it out of our mind in Jesus name. If we allow it access it sets up residence in our thought patterns and begins to rule us unless it is immediately dealt with the Word of God and the weapons He has given us.

Jesus said we have all power over the enemies of God, to tread upon serpents and scorpions and over all of their power against us, and nothing shall harm us! We have been given the supernatural arsenal of God, the weapons of faith and power and the Sword of the Spirit to defeat even the devil himself, the archangel of fear and dread. The Word says that nothing shall be impossible to those who believe and that we would even do greater works than Jesus did  because we are the body of the living Christ in the earth and He ever lives to make intersession for us as we war in the Spirit! Therefore, fear not!

Let the saints be joyful in glory; let them sing aloud on their beds. Let the high praises of God be in their mouth and a two edged sword in their hand, to execute vengeance on the peoples; to bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron; to execute on them the written judgment- this honor have all the saints. Praise the Lord! Psalm 149:5-9

"First of all, let me assert my firm belief that the only thing we have to fear is fear itself, nameless, unreasoning, unjustified terror which paralyzes needed efforts to convert retreat into advance." Franklin D. Roosevelt

In his 1933 inaugural address Franklin D. Roosevelt spoke these words in the grip of the "Great Depression" in which he exhorts America to advance and not retreat from the unrelenting fear that had come upon the whole nation.

Today we are facing multiple threats of destruction coming upon the land as ISIS advances in the middle east and infiltrates the US and the deadliest virus on the planet begins to spread right here in Dallas! With all the bad news coming from the media it is easy to allow fear to paralyze you and destroy your faith in God in whose hands our safety rests. The body of Christ must arise and shake off the bonds of fear and fight the good fight of faith in order to be able to deliver the gospel of Jesus Christ to those who are in desperate need of His life giving Spirit.

I believe that the beginning of tribulation will produce the greatest harvest of souls the world has ever seen as multitudes fear for their very lives and try and run for cover as the powers of darkness are unleashed to rob, kill and destroy as an unprecedented onslaught of evil descends upon the world. Terror is already spreading through the media's coverage of the Ebola crisis and in the hospital where the first patient died people are leaving and new patients are refusing to go there in fear of catching the virus. If this plague is not stopped it has the capability of destroying much of the world's population!

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. II Timothy 1:7

Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, (dis-heartened) for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10

The believer has nothing to fear but God because ultimately He holds everything upon this earth in His mighty hands and there is nothing hidden from His holy eyes! Sickness, disease, infirmity, terrorists, and yes, even death has no power over those who truly walk in and believe in the power and anointing that has been given to us.

Throughout the ages believers have faced unimaginable circumstances, persecutions, tribulation and threats of torture and death if they didn't renounce their faith in Christ. We too may face these same threats as the world moves closer to the end of the age in which the spirit of antichrist will rule! Many of the apostles and saints of God willingly gave up their lives being martyred for what they believed seeking rather to gain the kingdom of Heaven rather than renounce their Savior. We would do well to observe their courage and faith in the Lord Jesus as we approach these trying times of tribulation.

If God is for us then who can be against us? We fear because we are not grounded in faith and faith is the weapon that defuses fear. Did Jesus not lay His hands upon lepers who had a fearful and dreadful disease, highly contagious and capable of decimating a person as his flesh literally rotted away? Do we not have the same power available to us? The problem is we have not exercised our faith and stepped out of the boat and taken God at His word to walk in faith and do that which He did because it has been given to us to defeat the powers of sickness, disease and death.

"O death, where is your sting? O Hades, where is your victory?" The sting of death is sin and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. I Corinthians 15:55-57

Later He appeared to the eleven as they sat at the table; and He rebuked them for their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they did not believe those who had seen Him after He had risen. Mark 16:14

Jesus had trained His disciples for over three years walking throughout the land healing the sick, casting out demons and raising the dead and if anyone had proof that He was indeed the Savior of the world it was them! Talk about on the job training, they had it all and nothing was withheld from them including His upcoming death, burial and resurrection.

Upon His crucifixion they scattered like rabbits in fear and unbelief as if the past few years never happened or maybe they were just imagining all of these miracles they witnessed and maybe He wasn't the Savior after all. Sounds like someone else was loading them up with unbelief trying to convince them as he once tried with Jesus in the wilderness to doubt that he was the Son of the living God! You would think that Jesus would have appeared to His apostles first upon His resurrection, but no, He instead appeared to Mary, once a common road whore but now converted to Christ, something very unusual for a Jewish man to do much less to even give a woman the time of day as was their custom.

Mary tried to tell them but they didn't believe her until the Lord appeared to them and rebuked them for their unbelief. If Jesus rebuked those whom He walked with what do you suppose He would say to us in these last days as we sit in our comfortable pews of complacency and sip our Starbucks as the world outside our stain glassed cathedrals perishes in eternal fire and damnation? People are going to be in shear panic as the world as we know it begins to further unravel with absolute terror of those things coming upon it and the only help available is we who are washed in the blood of Jesus, filled with His glorious Spirit and commissioned to go into all the world as representatives of the Lord Jesus Christ!

"Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. "He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. "And these signs will follow those who believe: in My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will pick up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover." Mark  16:15-18

Therefore leaving the discussion of the elementary principles of Christ, let us press on to maturity. Hebrews 6:1

In the natural scheme of things we as humans are born to progress from childhood to adolescence and then on to adulthood becoming mature men and women. We are not meant to remain children even though some take longer than others, nonetheless we are to become adults. In the spiritual sense we are to also grow up and become rooted, grounded and mature men and women of God.

Today in the world of Christianity I am afraid that the vast majority of church members have remained in a state of perpetual childhood, confined in religious nurseries and kindergartens only to have their spiritual growth stunted by mis-guided leaders who keep them in an infantile state only to exploit them and fleece them of their money. How do I know this? By observing their language and their spiritual diet, because they talk like babies and they only have an appetite for milk and not solid food. Lets face it, there is absolutely no solid food (MEAT) being served today in most of the churches, only soft mushy sermons (BABY FOOD) of self help and self gratification to build self esteem and self love, something that Jesus said we are to die to.

No talk of sin, death to selfish living, the blood, repentance, or that repulsive cross, no, only nice warm fuzzy bedtime stories to lull the little darlings into a perpetual sleep! Another thing I see is grown men, many who have been in the Lord for years calling their heavenly Father, daddy. What you do in your quiet time is your business between you and God, but to act like children in front of new believers when you are to be training and equipping them for service in the kingdom is unacceptable. Daddy is a childish word for Father and it is usually done away with upon one's maturity, reserved for women and children. In case you haven't noticed there is a war raging outside of your stain glassed play pens, people dying and going to Hell because no one dared to tell them the truth that is able to set them free!

When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things. I Corinthians 13:11

For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principals of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food. For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe. Hebrews 5:12,13

Train, equip and send should be the motto of the church, taking new converts, training them for ministry, teaching them the basics of Christianity: salvation, deliverance and how to operate in the gifts of the Spirit. Baptizing them in water and then in the Holy Spirit, teaching them all that Jesus taught His disciples and then send them out to make disciples that will in turn plant churches and the process begins all over again!

The reason this doesn't work any more is because of greedy men, untrained themselves and polluted with tradition thinking that the sheep are theirs, they hold them in bondage not wanting to lose any of their income to someone else. That is why the church is splintered and divided because of these false shepherds wanting to be baby daddies and as the apostle Paul addressed the Corinthian church telling them that because they were following men that they were fleshly and behaving like babies. So it is today, envy, strife, selfish ambition, pride and greed dominate the churches filling them with baby Christians and many others, lost, never able to come to the knowledge of the truth because they never heard the gospel preached to them and subsequently have become a giant kindergarten of ignorant children babbling together in their playpens of complacency!

The world needs the body of Christ more than ever to bring them the good tidings of salvation, deliverance, healing and the power gifts of His glorious Spirit because they are being destroyed by the powers of darkness and dropping into Hell by the millions. Because of false prophets and teachers, who by the way will incur a stricter judgement because they withheld the truth that was able to set the captives free and by not training them to discern good from evil thus leaving a pathetic, lazy, misguided and deceived bunch of childish spectators!

But solid food belongs to those who are mature, that is, those who by reason of use (practice) have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil. Hebrews 5:14

That we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting. Ephesians 4:14

When one becomes a born again believer in Christ, if he is truly converted by the power of the Holy Spirit's transforming grace he immediately will hunger for God's word just as a human new born does and as he feeds on the faithfulness of it he will begin to grow and mature in the Lord. Once the newborn babe comes into the kingdom he needs to be taught how to study and show himself approved to God handling accurately the word of truth as Paul taught Timothy and then as he meditates on the word the revelation knowledge of the Holy Spirit will teach him what he needs to know.

Most of what is taught today is just worthless doctrine gathered from eons of religious tradition handed down and force fed to new believers who don't know the difference and so they are converted to whatever denominational teaching that they have received believing it is from God, thus producing another good Baptist, Methodist, Pentecostal, etc. instead of a disciple of Jesus Christ. The disciples that Jesus chose didn't have Bibles and probably were illiterate as well so they learned by example and at the same time built a relationship with Him as they traversed the countryside healing the sick, casting out demons, raising the dead and preaching the gospel of the kingdom as we are to be doing today!

Unless we cast off the restraints placed upon our necks by this demonically inspired shepherd/sheep mentality and free ourselves from the bonds of division and denominationalism we will never be what God intended for His blood washed body of born again believers in Christ. Unless you get out of the boat of religion and follow Jesus with all of your heart and shake off the bonds of deception you will end up sinking into the seas of man-made, man-centered religious dead works in a daycare of doom!

But speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the Head, Christ from whom the whole body joined and knit together by what every joint (you) supplies, according to the effective working by which every part (you) does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love. Ephesians 4:15,16

Blow the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in My holy mountain! Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble; for the day of the Lord is coming. Joel 2:1

The prophet Joel is prophesying of a time of great distress and anguish, a prophecy for more than one time, but especially for the last days in which we are entering. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to predict our future because it is being played out before our very eyes on the nightly news. War in the middle east, ISIS, Ebola in America, terror on every side, violence in the streets and the sounds of anarchy rising from the depths of civil unrest.

Contrary to popular belief and misguided church folk, the people that Joel is describing are not the people of God, but a hoard of demonic soldiers called to conquer and even God claims them to be His army. Sound ludicrous, read it, we as the body of Christ don't leave a desolate wilderness behind us and peoples faces aren't drained of color in our presence and we don't display the fangs of a lioness! Joel is describing a horrible army likened to locusts come to strip the land of God's branches and destroy the harvest.

The scene is one of a backslidden people steeped in ritual and tradition, unrepentant and desolate, not realizing God's absence nor the discerning of good and evil, they continue to act out their worship to a God long gone as they try to establish themselves as His people although He doesn't recognize them any longer! Their leadership blind and deaf, they wander aimlessly from one dead ritual to another but to no avail, their only Hope has left them as a husband leaves an adulteress!

Alas, sinful nation, a people laden, (weighed down) with iniquity, a brood (offspring) of evildoers, children who are corrupters! They have forsaken the Lord, they have provoked to anger the Holy One of Israel, they have turned away backward. Isaiah 1:4

The earth quakes before them, the heavens tremble; the sun and moon grow dark, and the stars diminish their brightness. The Lord gives voice before His army, for His camp is very great; for strong is the One who executes His word, for the day of the Lord is great and very terrible; who can endure it? Joel 2:10,11

The day of the Lord is at hand and we are in the midst of the greatest spiritual battle ever fought as the very gates of Hell are opened and a demonic army flood the earth. In America the security of a nation has been breached by the lack of leadership and the corruption of a once great government in which God has been expelled!

In a matter of months the borders of America have been overrun by illegal aliens, the White House was invaded by an intruder who walked through the unguarded and unlocked front door and the deadliest virus in the world entered unchecked to begin its devastating work in the streets of a country totally unaware of their spiritual condition, politically stupid and spiritually blind. As the prophets have warned for eons that there would be a day of judgment upon the wicked and a great trial upon the righteous as the hordes of Hell invade the world with darkness and destruction and apostasy descends upon a people once loyal to the Savior, but now asleep in a coma of complacency!

In Revelation 6:8 it speaks of a pale horse and the name of it's rider is Death and Hades followed with him and authority was given to them to kill a fourth of the earth with the sword, (war) with hunger, (famine) and by the beasts of the earth. (it is thought that Ebola is contracted from monkeys and bats) The current population of the earth is approximately 7 billion people and a fourth would be somewhere around 1.8 billion killed! That is an astronomical figure, but totally attainable by what is already beginning to ravish the planet by wars, famines and deadly plagues.

"Now therefore," says the Lord, "Turn to Me with all of your heart, with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning." So rend your heart, and not your garments; return to the Lord your God, for He is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness; and He relents from doing harm. Joel 2:12,13

Blow the trumpet in Zion. Consecrate a fast, call a sacred assembly; gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders! Joel 2:15,16

The winds of judgment are blowing and God is wanting His people to repent and come back to Him and be delivered so that they can receive His blessing and the subsequent outpouring of His Spirit. The day of the Lord is coming and His people are asleep, unresponsive to His Spirit and totally unaware of what is right outside of their stain glassed sanctuaries.

God is speaking through the prophet Joel to assemble the elders and the priests who minister to the Lord to repentance from selfish ambition and greed and to come together in unity and humility to train and equip His people who are ignorant in regards to spiritual warfare! This is the time to regain our heritage and prepare for war as the devil comes in the fury of violence, terror and death to destroy God's people and to stop the forward motion of the most powerful entity in the world, the church of the Lord Jesus Christ!

If the present day five-fold ministry of leadership won't repent of their foolishness and their total lack of concern in training His people, God will remove them and replace them with godly men after His own heart and purpose and not their own. This is the most serious time in all the world's history for God's people to make a last stand before His return instead of simply sitting in the pew awaiting the final blast of the trumpet to suck them up to Heaven in which they may have a very rude awakening!

Let the priests, who minister to the Lord, (Royal Priesthood) weep between the porch and the altar; let them say, "Spare Your people, O Lord, and do not give Your heritage to reproach, that the nations (powers of darkness) should rule over them. Why should they say among the peoples, 'Where is their God?' " Joel 2:17

"And it shall come to pass afterward that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and Your daughters shall prophesy, Your old men shall dream dreams, Your young men shall see visions. And also on My menservants and on My maidservants (disciples) I will pour out My Spirit in those days." Joel 2:28,29

As it was in the beginning with the appearance of the Son of God so it will be again as we approach His second coming, the Holy Spirit will be poured out and will transform the entire spiritual landscape. Many are looking for a last days church to rule the world and politics through their wealth and influence but I see a humble people empowered with the very purpose and nature of God in their heart.

The body of Christ will arise from the ashes of religious tradition and ritual and be about their Father's business and not their own, establishing His kingdom on earth as it is in Heaven. Signs, wonders and miracles will abound as they preach the gospel of the kingdom bringing many souls to repentance, healing the sick, casting out demons and raising the dead! The Christian world view will again be the discipleship of the nations and the equipping of the saints for the work of service and the nonsense of the present church of all about me will die to itself and any who are left will take up their cross, repent of worshiping man and follow Jesus with all of their heart!

With the advent of the "Blood Moon" sequence, a sign in the heavens of the coming of the "Day of the Lord" fulfilling the prophecy of Joel in which the moon will appear as blood red four times in the next two years with a total eclipse of the sun in the midst of this prophetic event for all the world to see. Last spring saw the first Blood Moon, and we are going to see the second on October the eighth leaving the eclipse of the sun and two more Blood Moons and then as at previous times a great change in the earth will appear! Are you ready to see the final chapter unfold on the earth as Heaven once again descends upon the earth with power and glory transforming everything it touches, restoring the authority of the Royal House of the Lord Jesus Christ?

"And I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth: blood and fire and pillars of smoke. The sun will be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the coming of the great and awesome day of the Lord. And it will come to pass that whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved." Joel 2:30-32
