Life Is Terminal

And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment, so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation. Hebrews 9:27,28

Over the course of the years I have done many funerals and it is sometimes strange that people are relieved when someone who has had a terminal disease passes away. I experienced this with my own father who died of cancer and felt after his death, relief as if his suffering had ended when he died, but did it?

Because of an overall belief that good people go to Heaven when they die there comes a false sense of peace, relieved that their loved one can now enter their rest, it is deceptive and holds eternal consequences! I have preached funerals where I knew the person went to Hell, but out of respect for the family I didn't mention their spiritual condition, although most knew in their heart that if in fact there was a Hell their loved one ended up there! This is a serious condition in the world today and in the church where we have all but forgotten the gospel of Jesus Christ and have denied the faith to preach the truth that is able to set men free!

There are no good people in Heaven, only saved ones, those who have repented of their sins and asked God for forgiveness and committed their lives in faith to the Lord Jesus Christ are the only ones who have eternal life. Goodness, works, religion, none of these will get you to Heaven, only by His shed blood and redemptive work on the cross will avail you entrance into life eternal and everyone is going to die! Life is terminal!

"For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. "He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." John 3:17,18

Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. Galatians 6:7,8

Life has consequences and everything we do, like a stone thrown into a pond has a ripple effect on the circumstances of our lives. For instance, you overeat and it makes you sick, you abuse drugs, you destroy your body, you rob a Seven Eleven, you go to jail, and so on and so on! Everything has consequences and when we sin it is no different, and like the scripture says, whatever a man sows that he will also reap!

Jesus came to save sinners from their sins and deliver them from the consequences that accompanied their sin. His death, burial and subsequent resurrection gave us the eternal benefit of everlasting life. The problem the church of the Lord Jesus Christ has incurred is a lack of true gospel preaching that brings about conviction of sin and with it, true repentance and godly sorrow, without which, no one can be saved. Because the gospel has been perverted, watered down, and distorted, even made politically correct, it no longer convicts men that they have broken God's laws and are worthy of eternal damnation!

The reason this country has fallen into such degradation is to be blamed on the lack of truth preached from the pulpits of America that would convict people of their sinful lives, bringing about repentance, but instead only mush is doled out to a backslidden brood of evil doers! America and the American church is reaping what they have sown and the consequences of their actions and bad behavior have destroyed generations of people poisoned with lies and spiritual pollution! Life has consequences!

For the wages (consequences) of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16

Whether you choose to accept it or not we are going to live forever, either in Heaven with Christ or in Hell, damned forever in torment with the devil and his angels. Eternal life is not a fairy tale as many have been led to believe, but a real dimension in which we will experience, either eternal bliss, or eternal suffering forever and ever!

The false prophets have misled multitudes since the time that Jesus spoke these words of truth: I am the way, the truth and the life and no one comes to the Father but by Me! Jesus is the only way of salvation and all who claimed to be deities or prophets are in the grave except Him. Mohammad, Confucius, Buddha, Brigham Young and every other false prophet are all in the grave, all but the glorious Savior of man, the Lord Jesus Christ, King of all kings and Lord of all! Every knee will eventually bow before Him and every tongue will confess that He is truly Lord and everyone will face eternity with or without Him!

A Jewish Pharisee, and leader of God's people named Nicodemus came to Jesus at night acknowledging Him as a teacher come from God when Jesus said to him, "Unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." Perplexed by His statement, he asked how someone could be born twice, and Jesus explained to him that one born of the flesh must experience a spiritual birth and by accepting Him as Savior and Lord by faith, repenting of his sins and asking for forgiveness, His blood would cleanse him and would give access to the Holy Spirit to enter him, thus making him a new creation in Christ! Life is eternal!

"Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not marvel that I said to you, 'You must be born again.' "The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit." John 3:5-8
