He was wounded (pierced) for our transgressions. Isaiah 53:5

The Romans pierced His hands as they nailed Him to the cross and the blood He shed from those wounds forgave our transgressions, a willful deviation from the path of righteousness.

For one to transgress, it is a premeditated crossing of the line of God's law, a rebellious act of rejecting God's authority. It is in fact willful disobedience to the commandments and statutes of the Most High!

We have all sinned and transgressed the laws of God, willfully trampling on His precious blood with no thought or remorse, and for those who wont repent, eternal damnation, away from the presence of God in Hell with the devil and His angels.

Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and has insulted the Spirit of grace? Hebrews 10:29
