Is The Day Of The Lord At Hand?

Wail, for the day of the Lord is at hand! It will come as destruction from the Almighty. Therefore all hands will be limp, every man's heart will melt, and they will be afraid. Isaiah 13:6,7

Sounds like what happened this past week in Boston and here in Texas. Fear, anxiety and absolute panic struck the hearts of the people of this land but no one has considered the fact that God who has been deeply grieved by our sins has anything to do with whats happening around the world. We just say,"God bless America" and sing the national anthem and think to ourselves, it will all go away.

But will it? No! It is only going to get worse! Why you say, because the wrath of God is poured out in these last days on the sons of disobedience. We are reaping the consequences of thousands of years of rebellion and the sins of our unfaithful ancestors. The terror of the Lord is breaking out on sin and God is using the same bunch of folks that He used against His people Israel when they disobeyed Him! Who do you think flew into the towers? They weren't from Ireland!

The apostle Paul warned the Corinthian church that they should not crave evil things because Israel was an example for them and were written for their admonition upon whom the ends of the ages have come. Keep in mind he was warning them 2000 years ago, so where does that put us in the prophetic scheme of things? The end of the age!

Behold, the day of the Lord comes, cruel, with both wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate; and He will destroy its sinners from it. Isaiah 13:9

"And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold." Matthew 24:12

I would dare to say that lawlessness is truly abounding around the world wouldn't you? Mass murders, robbery, rape, abortion, terror attacks, not to mention earth quakes, floods, super storms and catastrophic events of all kinds. The earth is reeling from the effects of God's judgments and they are evident throughout the world. One would have to be blind not to recognize it.

The disciples questioned Jesus about the signs of His coming and the end of the age and He warned them that there would be wars, famines, pestilences and earthquakes and so there have been all these things; but then He said something very interesting, "All these are the beginning of birth pangs." When a woman begins to experience birth pangs the baby is not far from being birthed, usually in hours.

Have we not experienced all of these warnings and seen with our own eyes the devastating results of these last days events? It can be seen every night on the news and every day there is another sign of His coming and we just yawn and say, "Whats for dinner honey?" like nothings happened whatsoever. May God open our eyes to the truth of His prophetic warnings from the Old and New testament scriptures. Time is running out and truly the love of many is growing cold.

Pangs and sorrows will take hold of them; they will be in pain as a woman in childbirth; they will be amazed at one another; their faces will be like flames. Isaiah 13:8

"I will punish the world for its evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; I will halt the arrogance of the proud, and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible." Isaiah 13:11

Throughout the scriptures God's wrath was poured out on sin and disobedience and although the believer has been delivered from the wrath to come by the blood of Jesus, the rest of the world is experiencing the judgments of a holy God. The people of God can no longer walk in ignorance and reject the words of the prophets any longer because they are being fulfilled before our very eyes!

As the birth pangs of the end of time increase so will the judgment also be escalated to a fever pitch as we approach the coming tribulation. We have yet to see the outcome of the wrath of God on the earth as millions succumb to His anger and the terrible plaques yet to come on all of mankind. Remember the judgments of the Old Testament and the consequences that came upon all who sinned against God and had forsaken His word, for they will pale in the darkness yet to come upon a people who refuse to repent and acknowledge the Most High.

Sadly most of the body of Christ remains in a vegetated state clothed in the darkness of man-made religion and ritual and can hardly stay awake in the endless services held for a God who left their boring assemblies long ago. Like the sleeping virgins many will miss the call of the bridegroom as He comes for a bride who has kept herself pure in readiness for the love of her life!

Therefore I will shake the heavens, and the earth will move out of her place, in the wrath of the Lord of hosts and in the day of His fierce anger. Isaiah 13:13
