Is It God's Will To Heal?

Come now, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit, whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. Instead you ought to say, if the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that." James 4:13-15

According to the Scriptures we are to obtain God's will in regards to the way we live and move about the planet, but in respect to healing His will is written for us to follow. When a relative dies, in most cases they leave a written instrument to convey their last wishes and distribute their wealth or possessions to their heirs. So it is with God, He has left us a last will and testament for us concerning the gift of divine healing.

God's word is His will and in order to see the fulfillment of it we must be stewards of it. Searching the Scriptures and praying in the Holy Spirit provides revelation in every circumstance and enables us to obtain victory in regards to praying for the sick. The reason many don't get healed today is because of several things that must be established in order for divine healing to manifest. In this series we will observe many of the components that need to be present for one to experience the kingdom benefit of healing and deliverance.

First of all when one operates a firearm he must obtain a target and then aim for that which he desires to hit. If the firearm is pointed in the air and fires, it hits nothing, but if it is pointed at the target the bulls-eye will be hit. One of the reasons people don't get healed is because there is no consistency or accuracy in their prayers and if they don't see results immediately they give up and the person they prayed for remains in their condition and the Devil wins!

Bless the Lord, O my soul and forget none of His benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases, Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies. Psalm 103:2-4

"If you diligently heed the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the Lord who heals you." Exodus 15:26

When one obtains a benefit package from his employment or even from Medicare he has a precise list of those things covered in his plan, so it is with God's benefit plan, certain benefits are spelled out so that there is no mistake in what we are to receive, and healing is one of those benefits.

To understand God's covenant one must believe that what Jesus suffered on the cross was to give us the benefit of healing, and the stripes that he received on His back healed all of our sicknesses and diseases. This one supreme act of mercy gave us a total deliverance from sin, sickness and broke the generational curse of hereditary disease. We have been freed from the bonds of death to inherit eternal life and all the benefits of God's blood covenant with us!

Jesus took all sin, sickness and the curse of the law upon Himself to set us free to obtain the benefit by faith in the finished works of Calvary. Salvation means deliverance, and we have been totally delivered and set free forever and His blood has washed us white as snow, cleansed by it's holy and divine power.

But now He has obtained a more excellent ministry, inasmuch as He is also Mediator of a better covenant, which was established on better promises. Hebrews 8:6

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths. Proverbs 3:5,6

One of the primary reasons people don't get healed today in our modern high tech digital world is because we don't really trust God. Be honest, most believe God heals, but they are not sure He wants to heal them. In many cases when one becomes ill they go immediately to the doctor and get a diagnosis and from there a treatment plan is followed. If the treatment fails, then maybe they will cry out to God for mercy!

If we are in covenant with God He promises divine healing and so we need to take Him at His word and trust Him with all of our heart. Trust involves commitment to Him who created us and the fact that He loves us and wants us to be well. It is His will to heal us. Throughout the New Testament Jesus healed the multitudes, sometimes He would ask them to do something in order to see if they had faith like: stretch out your hand, take up your pallet or rise and walk! Jesus healed all who came to Him trusting that He really cared for them and wanted to restore them.

If you had a Chevy and it broke down would you take it to a Ford dealership to be repaired? I think not, you would take it back to Chevrolet, it's creator. So it is with God, He didn't raise up doctors in this last century to heal us because we don't have the faith that previous saints had, that's ridiculous, but we have put our trust in man and not God because we have been taught to do so. If Jesus is our Lord, we must put all of our trust in Him and not in man, if you are sick, cry out to Him and He will answer because of our covenant with Him.

Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and depart from evil. It will be health to your body and strength to your bones. Proverbs 3:7,8
