I Was A Stranger

"For I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in." Matthew 25: 35

Within these powerful scriptures in Matthew Jesus is speaking of the inherited Divine nature and character of sheep and the lack of concern from the goats as He separated them, the sheep to inherit the kingdom, and the goats to be cast into everlasting punishment. The sheep and goats were not separated by what they did or what they didn't do, they were separated by who they belonged to, the sheep belonging to Jesus, and the goats belonging to the devil.

In light of the recent exodus at the border in which 50-80,000 people have attempted to cross from Mexico into Texas, the Lord began to speak to me as He has in the past about our attitude as Christians toward this event. Many of the "illegals" are children or mothers with infants coming from Central America and Mexico to cross over and contrary to popular belief a large percentage have been involved as victims of human trafficking and prostitution, much of it controlled by the drug cartels. I would remind those of you who read this message that if you claim to be a born again blood bought believer in Christ then your primary citizenship is in Heaven, not in the United States. I will also remind you that all of our ancestors were illegal aliens when they came to America and if you remember who was guarding the borders then from 1492 on, it was the Native Americans who we ended up slaughtering, or confined them to reservations (Prison Camps), all in the name of truth, justice and the American way!

It doesn't matter what the media says or what the world thinks about this situation, what matters is what God thinks and how we as believers should be involved in helping these strangers who are being dumped on the doorstep of America. Remember what God said, "However you want to be treated, so treat others." That is the "Golden Rule," the true nature of the heart of God for His people and a command of Christ, to love one another just as He first loved us. Judgment will be merciless to the ones who have shown no mercy!

'Thus says the Lord, "Execute justice and righteousness, and deliver the plundered (to wrongfully pillage) out of the hand of the oppressor. Do no wrong and do no violence to the stranger, the fatherless, (orphans) or the widow, nor shed innocent blood (The murdered souls of 50 million innocent babies) in this place." Jeremiah 22:3

"Look, this was the iniquity of your sister Sodom: She and her daughters had pride, fullness of food, and abundance of idleness; neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy." Ezekiel 16:49

Many have said that if God doesn't judge America for it's sins that He will have to apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah, but can I just tell you, God is judging America! Like a frog in a pan of water on the stove being turned up slowly to a boil, the frog doesn't realize what is happening to him until it is too late! So it is with America, we have suffered one catastrophic event after another, financial disasters, terrorist attacks, wars in the middle East, not to mention super storms, earthquakes, sink holes, wild fires, cancer, Barack Obama and numerous other disasters that have wreaked havoc across the country.

Sodom, like America was arrogant, had an abundance of food and lots of idle time on their hands and had absolutely no concern for the poor and needy. Because we have allowed the slaughter of over 50 million unborn innocent children can we expect God to just look away? Remember what happened to Sodom and Gomorrah and they weren't anywhere close to being as abominable as we have been. We have become the spoiled brat children of the world, whining every time the stock market loses a point or two, or oil prices go up a few cents and we bitch and moan because our gigantic SUV'S cost an arm and a leg to operate compared to the rest of the world who are forced to live on a budget.

God gave His people Israel instruction and commands about the poor and needy as well as strangers, aliens and foreigners and He expected them to be treated fairly and with respect and they were to also have these uninvited guests obey the law of the land as I believe illegal aliens should also have to do in this country, the problem being, no one has been able to set a plan of entrance and give people a chance to enter this country and gain their citizenship legally. The problem is far more complicated than just putting up a fence, but because of a broken government, a corrupt bureaucracy, a mountain of red tape and blame shifting, the problem will never be resolved. Another question, could this also be judgment by allowing thousands of illegals to eat up America's wealth because we have murdered millions of God's innocent children? You be the judge!

"You shall neither mistreat a stranger nor oppress him, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt. "You shall not afflict any widow or fatherless child. "If you afflict them in any way , and they cry at all to Me, I will surely hear their cry; and My wrath will become hot, and I will kill you with the sword; your wives shall be widows, and your children fatherless." Exodus 22:21,24

"Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me." Matthew 25:45

God's kingdom doesn't operate according to the basic principals of the world, in fact they are diametrically opposed to one another. We as servants of the Most High are to act and reach out to the least of these in the world with the same mercy and forgiveness that Jesus had for us. We are compelled by the Holy Spirit to give to the poor and needy, illegal or not in order to be sons and daughters of a loving and merciful God.

Jesus warned that in the last days that many people's love would grow cold and I believe we are in the midst of what the Bible calls the "Great Falling Away," not from attending church, but a falling away from walking in faith believing God and reaching out to a lost and dying world who absolutely don't have a clue what is happening to them! People around the globe are in dire need of the basic necessities of life and yet the American church spends it's money on buildings of wood, metal and stone while neglecting the poor of this world. Being in ministry and walking in faith for over thirty years has made me aware that doing the work of God is in most cases not supported by the American church because they have closed their hearts to the needs of the poor and encapsulated themselves in their sheep pens of event motivated, consumer driven, Sunday morning only services, while like an ostrich sticking their heads in the sand, blinded and deaf to the cries of the needy outside their double doors!

The great separation is already happening as the sheep of His pasture are being separated from the goats who belong to their father the devil. The sons of God are being revealed as the tares, sons of the devil and are being exposed to the world because they did not receive the love of the truth in order to be saved and escape damnationMay God have mercy on those who have shown no mercy, those who rejected the love of the Father becoming hard and cold to the needs of the hungry, the thirsty, the naked, those in prison, the sick, and the stranger. Salvation is a free gift but will ultimately cost you everything to follow Jesus, who suffered on the cross and died for a sin sick world in need of eternal life! I suggest you take a hard look at where you are with God and if you find yourself a goat, repent of your selfish life and surrender to the will of the Good Shepherd in order to enter His glorious kingdom. May God have mercy on your soul!

"And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life." Matthew 25:46

Your servant in Christ, Tim Laughlin
