Now the multitude of those who believed were of one heart and one soul; neither did anyone say that any of the things he possessed was his own, but they had all things in common. Acts 4:32

One of the evidences of the baptism in the Holy Spirit is deliverance from selfishness as seen in the book of Acts at Pentecost and even after that through the preaching of the apostles. Everyone shared their possessions with those who had need, even selling their houses and property!

Imagine the evangelical church today selling their vast assets, pooling their reserves and pouring out their wealth to those in need. Billions invested in palatial palaces of complacency, thousands of padded seats and pews and multi-millions in sound equipment, not to mention many of the pastor's jets, mansions, expensive cars and spoils taken from the unsuspecting sheep!

The first church at Pentecost saw thousands saved and delivered, healed and set free by the powerful outpouring of God's Spirit, but today people are satisfied to sit and hear a warm and fluffy message of peace and safety while the world, right outside their stained glass windows sink into a fiery eternity! Your treasure is to be stored in Heaven, not in a 401 or the stock market and your rewards are awaiting you in your eternal residence.

"Is it time for you yourselves to dwell in your paneled houses and this temple (us) to lie in ruins?" Now therefore, thus says the Lord of Hosts: "Consider your ways!" (repent) Haggai 1:4

Your servant in Christ, Timothy Laughlin
