Love endures all things. I Corinthians 13:7
The love of God gives us the ability to endure in times of tribulation, stress, grief and sorrow. Our endurance comes from the strength Holy Spirit has given us as we journey through life's challenges. As we experience the trials of life we are strengthened, knowing who is really in control of our circumstances.
Even as athletes train and work out to improve their skills in their sport of choice, so the believer also exercises as he passes through each trial that ultimately strengthens him, preparing him for the next one.
Jesus is our example to follow in His steps as He suffered many things while on the earth but endured for our sake as He reached His goal to redeem the world from their sins. If He had not endured we would have all been lost, doomed to suffer forever, but He was victorious even in His death as His endurance set us free and delivered us from the wrath to come!
Throughout the ages men and women of God have endured great suffering for their faith and many were persecuted, tortured and many others were killed for the name of their Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. We also are facing a world that is rapidly changing and will continue to persecute those who have given their lives up for the sake of following Christ.
Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you; but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ's sufferings, that when His glory is revealed you may also be glad with exceeding joy. I Peter 4:12,13
