God Is Love, Part XVI
Love hopes all things. I Corinthians 13:7
Hope is the expectation of the fulfillment of our prayers and that which we have petitioned from God. Hope is not a crap shoot or a shot in the dark as the world would think when they say I hope for this or that, our hope is a tangible substance as is our faith.
Love is a fruit of God's character, given to us who have had our conscience and hearts cleansed by the blood of Jesus, making our thoughts pure and giving us childlike faith and hope for all things. The world holds a pessimistic attitude and puts their trust and hope in man and the ability he has to somehow help them. Without hope the world is a dark and depressive place, filled with fear and the anticipation of judgment and death.
As the scripture states, hope is an anchor of the soul that holds us fast in the harbor of God's unfathomable love and it prevents us from drifting into the uncharted waters of fear, doubt and unbelief. Hope is our refuge from the storms of life as we trust in the Lord Jesus to deliver us from all evil.
This hope we have is an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast. Hebrews 6:19
