Love bears all things. I Corinthians 13:7
Even as Jesus has borne the sins of the world, died on a cross and was resurrected, so we too are to bear all things that come into our lives. To bear one another's burdens, to sustain in tribulation and to endure the sufferings of Christ are the things that conform us into the image of our Lord.
Jesus was concerned with the welfare of others and His ministry was to heal the sick, set the captives free, raise the dead and feed the poor. Our ministry is the same, we are not called to occupy a pew, sing a song and take up an offering to pay for a huge overhead of some man's fleshly kingdom, no, we are called to the ministry of Jesus, to all who are in need and suffering.
Imagine what the body of Christ, unrestrained from the bonds of tradition and ritual could do with all the money that has been collected to build these modern day cathedrals of complacency, it would be staggering. Poverty would be wiped out, hospitals emptied, psychiatric wards closed and millions would be saved and set free because the body of Christ would bear the sufferings of the world!
We then who are strong ought to bear the weaknesses of the weak, and not to please ourselves. Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, leading to the edification of others. For even Christ did not please Himself; but as it is written, "The reproaches of those who reproached You fell on Me." Romans 15:1-3
