Love thinks no evil. I Corinthians 13:5
This scripture reminds me of the famous three wise monkeys that said, "See no evil, hear no evil and speak no evil" the Bible adds one more: think no evil! The mind of the believer is a veritable battle ground, being invaded on an almost momentary basis by thoughts being fired by the world, flesh and the devil!
Our only hope in this war of thoughts is to have the mind of Christ, a mind filled with God's word and the revelation of that which He gives us to sustain our mind and our sanity. The devil is a master in being able to read our body language, knowing our habits and maybe even our thoughts, he shoots fiery darts of lust and fantasy to distract and draw us away from our devotion to the Lord. Ephesians instructs us to take the shield of faith with which we will be able to extinguish the flames of the enemy's darts.
The apostle Paul exhorts the Corinthian church to wage war in the Spirit taking every thought into captivity and renouncing and expelling all evil. Today in this insane electronic world of visual reality we are exposed to more evil to think about than any other generation that has come before us, giving us more reason to stand and fight with His power and might and to keep our minds pure and stayed on Him!
If then you were raised up with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things of the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is our life appears then you also will appear with Him in glory. Colossians 3:1-4
