Love does not parade (vaunt) itself. I Corinthians 13:4
To parade oneself is to vaunt or brag and be boastful about ones position or provision of wealth, status or physical prowess. An example of this is Lucifer, son of the morning, arch angel of destruction and death, arrogant and prideful enemy of all mankind!
The sin of pride entered creation from the heart of Satan, then, Lucifer when he was convinced that he was the greatest of all arch angels, even rebelling against His God who created him. According to I John 2:15,16 the boastful pride of life is from the world and if anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him! Pride is an abomination to God and a reminder of who brought it to His creation when Satan tempted Adam and Eve in the garden and then polluted the world with its deadly poison.
The danger of a prideful and a boastful life is the fact that it tends to elevate one above the Creator making him a legend in his own mind as it has before with men who have risen to be evil dictators and the like, down through history, but pride comes before a fall, and they all fall!
How you have fallen from Heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! (Day Star) How you are cut down to the ground, you who weakened the nations! For you have said in your heart: I will ascend into Heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will sit on the mount of the congregation, on the farthest sides of the north; I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High. Yet you shall be brought down to Sheol, the lowest depths of the pit. Isaiah 14:12-15
