Love is kind. I Corinthians 13:4
Kindness is a rare quality today in this violent and lawless world and because of such behavior most people's love is growing cold. Jesus warned His disciples that in the last days because of lawlessness, the love of many would grow cold and so it has.
Normally you can tell if a person is kind or not by the way he treats his kids, his wife and even his animals. If he is abusive to any of these, more than likely he is not kindhearted toward others. We see so many acts of terror, murder, rape and violent acts of war every day on the news that it has a tendency to harden our hearts and dampen our spirits, drawing us into the world's dog eat, dog attitude and with it an unkind view toward our fellow man in whom we are commanded to love.
Jesus is our model and the supreme example of a kind and tenderhearted Man concerned with the welfare of people and always looking out for the interests of others. We would do well to follow in His footsteps and become kind and tenderhearted as well, sensitive to the world's many wounded who are dying in the streets, longing for someone to notice their plight and help them.
And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you. Ephesians 4:32
