God Is Love, Part II
Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, I am nothing. I Corinthians 13:1-3
There are many today who proclaim that they love God and their fellow man but actions speak louder than mere words. The love we have displayed to the world for the most part from the church of Jesus Christ is truly like a clanging cymbal. Have you ever heard a child banging on a cymbal, or who tried to play a violin or some other musical instrument? The sounds produced by that child make a horrible sound much like what we as believers have shown the world.
God proved His great love for us by the sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ, given up for many who didn't receive Him or acknowledge His great gift of eternal life. We prove our love for Him by our actions and by laying down our lives for Him who died and was raised eternal in heavenly places to ever reign in glory with the Father! Our ministry is to show the world the love of God, poured out for them through the shedding of the blood of Jesus, given to all who would repent and make Him their Lord and Savior!
To be born again is to have the love of God poured out into our hearts, a divine deposit of His very character and nature, freely given to us as believers, to in turn, give away to a lost and dying world slipping into darkness. If we have not love, we have not the Savior!
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16
