God Is Love, Part I
Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. I John 4:7,8
There is no God but One, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, three in One! The triune God has created all that is and has fashioned mankind from the dust of the earth. From the first dawn until now God has loved His earthly creation and has given all the earth contains for his sustenance. His sole purpose was to create a family of earthly beings to rule His kingdom here on earth.
If there were no God, creator of all things, there would be no love, only chaos and although there is certainly chaos, there remains the love of God for His chosen! There are four Greek words for love, three of them found in the New Testament: Eros love which is physical passion originated from the god Eros, Storge love, the love between a mother and her infant, Phileo love which is affection for others based on feelings and Agape love.
Agape love is the love God has for man and within it are fifteen characteristics that define who God is and how He loves all of mankind. Within this devotional teaching we will explore the divine fruit of love and its characteristics that make up agape love. In order for man to love he must first receive agape love through the born again experience available to everyone who will believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord!
In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. I John 4:9
