God Commands His Blessing On Unity

GOD COMMANDS HIS BLESSING ON UNITY

Behold, how good and pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious oil upon the head, running down on the beard, the beard of Aaron. Running down on the edge of his garments. It is like the dew of Hermon descending upon the mountains of Zion; for there the Lord commanded the blessing-Life forevermore. Psalm 133:1-3

God loves unity and His blessing comes upon those who are of one accord and He even commands His blessing and anointing on those who would unify. Throughout scripture we see disunity, strife, jealousy and division constantly disrupting the flow of His blessings that He so eagerly wants to bestow on His people.

There are two major enemies of the church of Jesus Christ, especially in the West, capitalism and competition, both of which have infiltrated the body of Christ and poisoned her with pride, greed and selfish ambition! A perverted message of prosperity has led God's people to seek after material wealth and not the true riches of His kingdom, and secondly, competition has set the churches against one another, competing for nickles, noses and numbers instead of unifying together under the banner of the cross of Christ!

The powers of darkness have successfully divided the most powerful entity in the universe by seducing untrained and institutionalized leadership into thinking they are the only ones with the truth, thereby setting them against their brothers and thus minimizing greatly their divine power to fulfill the will of God and expand His kingdom!

And I brethren, could not speak to you as to spiritual people but as to carnal, as to babes in Christ. I fed you with milk and not with solid food; for until now you were not able to receive it, and even now you are still not able; for you are still carnal. For where there are envy, strife, and divisions among you, are you not carnal and behaving like mere men? I Corinthians 3:1-3

THE POWER TO AGREE

"Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in Heaven." Matthew 18:19

Agreement is an awesome power that even works in the secular world, in marriage and in every other human institution. For two people to agree on anything today is very unusual, especially when it comes to politics and religion!

For the believer we have no option but to agree with one another and to walk in peace and harmony because we are not of this world, we are of a supernatural kingdom and our spirits naturally bear witness with one another that we belong to the Lord Jesus Christ and His family. The scripture plainly says that if we agree, we can ask anything and it will be done for us by our Father who is in Heaven and anything covers a lot of ground!

Jesus sent His disciples out in twos for this very reason because there is strength in numbers and agreement increases power. They obeyed and followed His lead and eventually one hundred twenty were in one accord, an example for all of us today. In order to see this divine power of agreement, one must put off the traditions and dead rituals of institutional church life and put on the "New Man" and walk in the Spirit and not in the flesh!

Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls, for he has no one to help him up. Again if two lie down together, they will keep warm; but how can one be warm alone? Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him, and a threefold cord is not quickly broken. Ecclesiastes 4:9-12

A SUPERNATURAL SYMPHONY

When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all together with one accord in one place. Acts 2:1

Symphony means a harmony of sounds and in an orchestra if just one person is off key or out of tune, immediately you know it. So it is in the body of Christ when one person is out of sorts with another or if there is disagreement, everyone knows it. Now, what have you heard from today's spiritual symphony, peace and harmony, or strife, jealousy and division?

It is imperative that we as His body walk in peace and harmony with one another as this first expression of His glorious church. One of our greatest faults in today's church is tradition and ritual handed down by leaders who are not led! In other words, men who have nor been with Jesus, oh, they profess to know Him, but don't spend time with Him, being too busy running their religious business. The fellowship of saints at Pentecost had no leaders, the apostles were barely able to lead each other, being novices, although they spent three years getting to know Jesus.

For the body of Christ today to experience the powerful outpouring of God's Spirit there will have to be a shift from going to church under strict rules and regulations given by men who haven't been with Jesus to a people who are in love with the Lord and one another, who are the church, free from the bonds of traditional, ritualistic, dead religion! People who have sold out to follow the Lord, who seek Him diligently with all their hearts and who walk in harmony producing the sounds of Heaven and receive the blessings of God's Spirit poured out from on high!

And suddenly there came from Heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. Acts 2:2-4
