Five Steps to Hear God, Part I
O God, You are my God; early will I seek You; my soul thirsts for You, my flesh longs for You in a dry and thirsty land where there is no water. Psalm 63:1
Set an appointed time every day to seek the Lord and establish a time to be still, read, pray and write. These five steps will insure your relationship with Him will become strong and vibrant as you fellowship with God, seek His face and hear His voice.
Thirty five years ago my pastor taught me how to have a quiet time alone with God to commune with Him and to hear His voice and I set that appointed time with Him every morning and even when times were tough I was strengthened by His voice. There are many who claim to hear God but don't spend quality time with Himand I would doubt whose voice they are hearing. In order to hear and to know Him, one must quiet his spirit and be still and He will speak in a still and quiet voice into your heart.
Early in the morning is the best time to seek the Lord because your mind is quiet and at rest and your heart is at peace without the hustle and bustle of the day. When you make this appointment with God you need to keep it and be diligent to meet with Him every day. You may have to get up earlier, but I guarantee that you will be blessed abundantly by the voice of the Most High speaking to you and strengthening your walk with Him.
Blessed is the man who listens to Me, watching daily at My gates, waiting at the posts of My doors. For whoever finds Me finds life, and obtains favor from the Lord. Proverbs 8:34,35
