Fear Not, Part III
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. II Timothy 1:7
When one is born again and filled with the Holy Spirit he is endowed with power from on high to defeat the enemies of our soul. The Greek word for power in the New Testament translates into our modern day word for dynamite. We are filled with dynamite to explode against the powers of fear, doubt and unbelief!
The Holy Spirit is our comforter, called along side of us to bring comfort and peace in the midst of fearful situations. Like a parent looking after her children, the Spirit of God hovers over us to protect us from sudden fears that war against our faith in God and His word. When you are confronted with fear the enemy whispers in your ear all that is going to happen to you, whether a bad diagnosis from a doctor, or a financial report or some other circumstance that threatens you, the enemy tries to magnify the problem to get you to waver in your faith.
When all seems lost, remember this, that you have the same power that raised Jesus from the dead living within you and nothing shall be impossible to those who believe. Stand firm and defeat the enemy of faith with the sword of the Spirit and the power of God!
Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you, cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Lament and mourn and weep! Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up. James 4:7-10
