Fear Not, Part I
"Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you. For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior." Isaiah 43:1-3
We live in fearful times with evil all around us, sickness and disease rampant and violence and catastrophic events are becoming common place, but God said, "Fear not!" Fear is the enemy of faith and we as believers are called to walk and live by faith and not by sight. It is impossible to please God without faith and the devil knows it, so one of his favorite tactics against us is to get us to fear, and according to the Word, what a man fears will come upon him.
Have you ever been approached by a mean dog, growling and showing his teeth, a frightful thing, but normally if you stand your ground and don't show any fear he will retreat, but run and your done for! I know I have had Dobermans and Rottweilers who are very aggressive dogs yet normally standing your ground will stop them from attacking. So it is with the powers of darkness, they always come with fear, doubt and unbelief to defeat your faith in God to deliver you, but if you stand your ground in faith with the armor of God you will have victory over them.
If God is for us who can be against us as the Word states, because we belong to God who has redeemed us from the curse of the law, and defeated our enemies, so when we are approached by evil we remember who we are and to Whom we belong and fear is defeated!
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. II Timothy 1:7
