Equipped to Serve

Equipped to Serve

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. II Timothy 3:16,17

                             "PURITY, PASSION, PURPOSE AND POWER"

PURITY - Who may ascend into the hill of the Lord? Or may stand in His holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart. Psalm 24:33,4

The servant of the Lord Jesus Christ must be pure in heart, pure in motive and pure in ministry in order to be able to touch people's lives with healing and deliverance that brings about restoration. Your ministry is not your ministry until it is His ministry. True servant-hood requires complete surrender of all one possesses, including His will and desires before the Master. Many today in ministry have defiled themselves by using worldly devices in order to achieve a spiritual outcome, but to no avail!

Create in Me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Psalm 51:10

PASSION - "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself." Luke 10:27

Our passion for ministry and servant-hood is birthed out of a love relationship with God through Jesus Christ, not out of obligation or guilt or even condemnation which motivates most of today's church, but because He first loved us and gave Himself for us, we serve from a grateful heart in obedience to His word and the leading of His Spirit. The passion of God within us is the guiding force that moves us to touch lives through the power of His Spirit.

Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. I John 4:7,8

PURPOSE - Now the purpose of the commandment is love from a pure heart from a good conscience, and from sincere faith. I Timothy 1:5

Our purpose is His purpose and that is to establish His kingdom in the earth by the transformation of man by the renewing power of the gospel of Jesus Christ. We as believers have been given heavenly seed to sow into the hearts of men that they may be born from above by becoming new creations in Christ! Imagine what the world would be like if everyone did their part in the kingdom promoting the gospel instead of themselves. Righteousness would prevail and evil would disappear with the brightness of the establishment of God's kingdom!

This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief. However, for this reason I obtained mercy that in me first Jesus Christ might show all longsuffering, as a pattern to those who are going to believe on Him for everlasting life. I Timothy 1:15,16

POWER - "But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth." Acts 1:8

The power of the baptism in the Holy Spirit must be restored to the church of Jesus Christ in order to promote the gospel of the kingdom and to perform signs, miracles and wonders as a witness to the testimony of Jesus. The church of Jesus Christ is the most powerful entity in the world possessing the same power that raised Jesus from the dead. We as believers are a royal priesthood, a holy nation called to establish the kingdom of God on earth and to reap a divine harvest of blood washed saints of the Most High!

Coming to Him as to a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God and precious, you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. I Peter 2:4,5

Your servant in Christ, Tim Laughlin
