"Have you considered my servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, one who fears God and shuns evil? And still he holds fast to his integrity, although you incited Me against him to destroy him without cause." Job 2:3

Character is defined as strength of moral fiber, the quality of men of principal and integrity who stand up in the very face of death and evil! Job was one such man who lost all, but stood his ground when the devil destroyed his life and refused to blame God.

Almost thirty nine years ago I was saved and baptized with a powerful anointing on my life to see the captives set free and to preach the gospel. The problem was my character had to catch up with my anointing, which, through many trials took years. God is still not through with me as with other men because He wont stop until He can see His image in us!

The question raised is, "Does character count?" Do you want leaders in your church who don't have any character qualities and do you wan't men running your government without any moral fiber? Is the only recommendation, the ability to make money, or administrate a government polluted with controversy and deception? I think not!

Then his wife said to him, "Do you still hold fast to your integrity? Curse God and die!" But he said to her, "You speak as one of the foolish women speaks. Shall we indeed accept good from God, and shall we not accept adversity?" In all this Job did not sin with his lips. Job 2:9,10

"For behold, you shall conceive and bear a son. And no razor shall come upon his head, for the child shall be a Nazirite to God from the womb; and he shall begin to deliver Israel out of the hands of the Philistines" Judges 13:5

The Bible speaks of many leaders, some good and some bad just as we have today, few have strong moral characters, free from the love of money and the lust for power. Samson, most likely the strongest man to ever live, anointed by God to deliver His people Israel had some serious character flaws that opened the door for his enemies to defeat him and ultimately kill him!

Proving that great physical strength doesn't make a great leader, Samson was compromised because of his lust for women and bitterness because his pagan wife to be was given to another. He taunted his enemies, partied with them and because of his arrogance, fell asleep in the lap of a temptress named Delilah and the enemies of God shaved his head, took him captive, gouged out his eyes and made him their slave. Although in the end he cried out to God, not because he was repentant, but for the loss of his eyes and his strength came back only for him to pull down the enemy's temple, killing them all and Samson too.

I personally am not labeled a conservative or a liberal, I am a born again believer, unconcerned with politics because I serve a King! America on the other hand has chosen a man like Samson, strong and arrogant with the emotional stability of a ten year old girl! He has taunted our enemies, befriended them and made a mockery out of the office of President. Although the people wanted change at all costs without concern for the man's character, like Israel when they clamored for a king, God turned them over to the lusts of their hearts and sent an evil spirit on their king!

You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet you do not have because you do not ask. You ask, and do not receive because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures. Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity (ill will and mutual hatred) with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. James 4:2-4
