WALKING IN THE SPIRIT
He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in Him I will trust. Psalm 91:1,2
My dad was a big man, strong and husky and as a child when I walked with him I stayed in his shadow knowing that I was safe and that nothing could harm me. So it is with our God and Father whose shadow covers us as we walk in the Spirit.
In a spiritual world, not all is well as the powers of darkness are ever-present to rob, kill and destroy our lives and bring us into darkness, off the narrow road that leads to life. Like bandits waiting on the stagecoach of old, they hide alongside the paths we travel waiting to rob us, but we must remember who our fortress is, the Most High God we serve who is our Protector!
Walking in the Spirit demands spiritual sharpness, eyes that see and ears open to the voice of the Spirit who leads us. As we walk in the flesh our five senses lead us, sometimes in the wrong direction and that is why we must be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might!
Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler (trapper) and from the perilous pestilence. Psalm 91:3
