BLOOD COVENANT

Then to Adam He said, “Because you have heeded the voice of your wife, and have eaten from the tree of which I commanded you, saying, ‘You shall not eat of it’: “Cursed is the ground for your sake; In toil you shall eat of it all the days of your life. Both thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you, And you shall eat the herb of the field. Genesis 3:17,18

The curse of poverty and lack was pronounced upon Adam and subsequently was passed down the bloodline to us all! The curse of poverty is not always about material wealth because we have many throughout history, even unbelievers who were very wealthy! Normally those who have great wealth are spiritually and emotionally bankrupt.

Jesus paid the price with His own blood as He journeyed on the trail of great suffering to set us free from the curses of Adam. After Jesus was scourged with a "Cat-of-nine-tails," a Roman whip with nine strips of leather tipped with pieces of metal and bone He was brought to the governor's headquarters and they made sport of Him, mocking Him by putting a scarlet robe on Him, proclaiming Him to be "King of the Jews!"

Next the soldiers twisted a "Crown of thorns" and thrust it down upon His scalp, drawing His blood and breaking the generational curse of poverty, lack and debt! This reversed the curse spoken by God over Adam's livelihood and ours by the shedding of the blood of Christ!

Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the Praetorium and gathered the whole garrison around Him. And they stripped Him and put a scarlet robe on Him. When they had twisted a crown of thorns, they put it on His head, and a reed in His right hand. And they bowed the knee before Him and mocked Him, saying, “Hail, King of the Jews!” Then they spat on Him, and took the reed and struck Him on the head. And when they had mocked Him, they took the robe off Him, put His own clothes on Him, and led Him away to be crucified. Matthew 27:27-31
