“Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ.” Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Men and brethren, what shall we do?” Acts 2:36,37
The apostle Peter was exercising his newly received gift of the baptism in the Holy Spirit by preaching the gospel to those who had agreed to crucify the Lord Jesus Christ! The message of repentance pierced their hearts bringing conviction and they cried out, "What shall we do?"
John the baptist preached repentance as he baptized those coming to be saved and Jesus also preached repentance from sins in order for people to be forgiven and saved! Without repentance there can be no forgiveness nor salvation! The preaching of repentance has been glossed over with sugar coated messages of peace, love and prosperity!
The anointing allows us the boldness of the Spirit to preach truth which leads to Godly sorrow for sins and the result is the saving of ones soul! We must be filled and focused on the truth of God's word that sets a heart free from sin, iniquity and transgression!
Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Acts 2:38
