Flee also youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord with a pure heart. II Timothy 2:22
Praise God He delivered me from certain destruction and I went on to see His glory in the many lives He miraculously changed in the ministry. Forgetting my vow to the devil, I figured that was the last of his schemes but was I wrong! One of the very next women to enter the program was the one I would fall with, not sexually by an affair, but by falling in love with her!
Satan is a hunter and fisher of men, patiently waiting for his prey to be weakened, wounded or just worn down by his seductions. This was the fate of one of the greatest military commanders on the planet, King David, sweet psalmist of Israel, mighty warrior and as God described him, "A man after His own heart!" After many victories, killing Goliath, defeating thousands of the enemies of God and surviving the many attempts on his life by Saul, David had grown tired.
It took years but Satan finally trapped David with an affair with his neighbor's wife, Bathsheba and so he took him down and nearly destroyed his life and ministry, never completely recovering, the consequences of his actions followed him to the grave. It also took the devil years to trap me as I saw in the woman who came in the program become my staff and I saw in her attributes I didn't have with my wife and I finally realized I was in love with her. I struggled to get free but the pain was too much to endure and finally I succumbed to the fact that I was held captive with no hope of escape from the devil's trap!
Be sober, be vigilant, because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. I Peter 5:8
