Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails. I Corinthians 13:4-8
Not to get to far off the theme of love by the testimonies of my journey with Jesus, I must tell you that my exploits of healing, deliverance and miracles were motivated by the love God that He put in my heart and when I received the baptism in the Holy Spirit it caused a supernatural explosion that allowed me to love the unlovely!
Newly baptized with power from on high I was being mentored by Milton Green in the ministry of deliverance and spent hours casting out demons as I learned how they got into people and through the power of God, how to get them out! One day when confronted by a demon speaking out of a woman in a deep male voice I became a little cocky wanting to prove my authority and so I commanded the demon to bow his knee before the Lord Jesus Christ and three times he said NO! Perplexed by my lack of power the Holy Spirit said, "He's bowed three times, what else do you want him to do?"
I'm glad God has a sense of humor because that encouraged me greatly to know that we do indeed have all power and authority over our enemies! Then one night a friend came over and told me that the Spirit told him to have me anoint him with oil and so I did and then He said for my friend to anoint me also and then the phone rang. It was a man in the church who had one foot in the world and was trying to live the Christian life, but was double-minded. The man cried out for help and then began to growl like a wild beast and then hung up!
We immediately drove over to his home, got out and looked in the window and there saw the man lying on his back on the floor as a demon was tossing him up in the air supernaturally! We looked at each other wanting to run but the Holy Spirit prompted us to enter and the man jumped up on all fours and growled at us. I immediately grabbed the phone and called Milt for help. He answered the phone and I told him what was going on and he said, "Call me when it's over, click!" We then grabbed the man and threw him on the couch and cast demons out of him for four hours until he was as limp as a dishrag! Praise God!
Then the seventy returned with joy, saying, "Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name." Luke 10:17
