LOVE "But a certain Samaritan as he journeyed, came where he was and when he saw him, he had compassion. "So he went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine; and he set him on his own animal, brought him to an inn, and took care of him." Luke 10:33,34 Sitting in church one Sunday, bored to death and tired of just listening to a lifeless sermon, the Holy Spirit led me out and down by a river where I found a family living in a bus. Although I had been taking men to a Motel 6 to cast the demons out of them, I had never taken on such a challenging undertaking, an entire family who had nothing! This was my first experience loving my neighbor and I purposed to do everything I could to help them out of a bad situation. I had a friend who had some property and a house where I put the family and I had the local newspaper do a story on them so that people would donate items to the cause. The response was overwhelming as I had to rent a truck to pick up the items and used a warehouse on the property to store the goods. The night we moved the family in they had a house full of food and furniture and their kids had new school clothes and shoes, so I had a reporter with me to record them moving in when the mother said their daughter had a high fever, so I laid my hands on her and rebuked the fever and immediately it left. It was a wonderful sight to behold! Your servant in Christ, Timothy Laughlin |
