LORD, TEACH US TO PRAY

And Jesus said to His disciples, "Which of you shall have a friend, and go to him at midnight and say to him, 'Friend, lend me three loaves; 'for a friend of mine has come to me on his journey, and I have nothing to set before him'; "and he will answer from within and say, 'Do not trouble me; the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give to you'? Luke 11:5-7

I wish I could tell you that I have prayed for forty years and not at some time or another lost heart, but I have and I have been discouraged at times and fearful, but God always seems to come through! This is what the apostle Paul calls, "The Good Fight of Faith!" The key to seeing prayers answered is, "Persistence!"

Most would leave if their neighbor said that he was in bed and wouldn't help him, but God is saying to keep asking and keep knocking until your neighbor opens up! Same with your heavenly Father, keep your request before Him and don't lose heart and give up! If your children come to you in the middle of the night asking for help, would you not give it to them?

When praying, claim the many promises of God in regards to your request, appropriate that which has already been done for you! You are already healed, delivered, prospered and forgiven and it doesn't get any better than that! Don't pray for more power because the same power that raised Jesus from the dead resides in you!

"I say to you, though he will not rise and give to him because he is his friend, yet because of his persistence he will rise and give him as many as he needs. "So I say to you, ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. "For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened." Luke 11:8-10
