Then those who gladly received his word were baptized, and that day about three thousand souls were added to them. And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship in the breaking of bread and prayers. Acts 2:41,42

This became normal operations for the new church comprised of New Men(and women) and continued to flourish under the leading of the Holy Spirit! Every week there was spiritual activity and supernatural occurrences happening all across the city, not just on Sundays or the Sabbath but all week long!

Signs, wonders, and miracles were abundant and the excitement grew so that thousands were saved and baptized in the Holy Spirit! Imagine today what would happen if all these supernatural works would manifest in our Sunday services instead of a dusty old sermon with three points, a poem, an offering, and an afternoon nap!

Sadly, our lifestyles and the clock on the wall limit our love affair with Jesus and greatly diminish any supernatural manifestations from happening. It would be like making love with your spouse and pointing to the alarm clock saying: "You've got five minutes buddy!" This is why the American church is dead and they have to pump up the services with music, special guests, and drama so that the congregation will stay awake!

Then fear came upon every soul, and many signs and wonders were done through the apostles. Acts 2:43

"Now, Lord, look on their threats, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak your word, "by stretching out Your hand to heal, and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of Your servant Jesus." Acts 4:29,30

The focus of the new creation church was boldness, power, healing, deliverance, and evangelism in the face of persecution! Their God-given mission was to preach the word with boldness and make disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ! These new converts were on fire to speak out no matter what the consequences, even death!

In these end times we must again look at the first church, our example to follow in order to overcome and have victory to conquer in these last days! We are not called to sit, we are called to spread the Word, not just a few, but all of us! When was the last time you shared your faith or gave your testimony to someone, or do you have a testimony? The Word says we overcome by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of our testimony!

We as the last generation of believers have been lulled to sleep by false prophets, pastors, and downright charlatans, preaching mush and bilking the body of Christ out of their money to promote their ungodly agendas! The New Man must stand and shake off the dust of dead religious tradition and the doctrines of demons that have mesmerized them and fight the good fight of our faith!

And when they had prayed, the place they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God with boldness. Acts 4:31

And when this sound occurred the multitude came together, and were confused, because everyone heard them speak in his own language. Acts 2:6

The very first new creation church of Jesus Christ was birthed at Pentecost with 120 sold out disciples of Christ filled with Holy Spirit power, passion and vision for His mission! After the mighty wind of God produced a spiritual sound from Heaven as of a hurricane, they began to go out into the streets speaking in the languages of those in from out of town!

This is God's model for His church in the earth today, to move out and make disciples of all nations as these young converts were doing. Speaking in tongues the multitudes were amazed and when Peter stood up and preached the gospel they were brought to conviction and 3000 were gloriously saved!

The awesome power of God was poured out that day and continued to spread like wildfire throughout the city with people getting saved and baptized in the Holy Spirit! Imagine 3000 visitors from out of town saved and coming to live with the 120 in common! Able and willing to give all they sold their possessions and provided for all the new converts as they worshiped and praised God for His goodness!

Then Peter said to them, "Repent and let everyone of you be baptized in the name of Jesus for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit." Acts 2:38

And suddenly there came a sound from Heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them tongues as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. Acts 2:3

When renewing the mind of man there's nothing like a mighty wind to air out the house! The first church was sitting having obeyed the command of Christ to wait on the promise of His Spirit. Today's church is sitting waiting on His return! But the point is to be filled with the Holy Spirit.

The New Man must be baptized in the Holy Spirit in order to be able to not only complete the transformation but to perform miracles, signs and wonders in his new ministry! Remember as Christ was in the world so are we, representing His image and character. Ambassadors for a supernatural world bringing Heaven down to earth!

Contrary to popular belief and worldly tradition there is no Clergy/Laity only disciples of Christ filled with His Spirit, vision and mission. The fallacy today is only those who have been to seminary and are ordained by man can qualify to minister in the name of Jesus! The truth is everyone who is born again and is baptized in His Spirit is led by the Spirit to do the greater works of Christ and fulfill that which the Lord has commissioned him to do!

And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. Acts 2:4

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Romans 12:2

The New Man has been given a new world view as the Spirit indwells his body, no longer bound by worldly mindsets he is free to walk and live in the Spirit! The mind must be renewed to think in the Spirit and have the mind of Christ! So, what does Jesus think about?

The mind of Christ is a holy place filled with the word of the living God with no malice, only mercy grace and forgiveness. Peace reigns supreme asHis thoughts are always on His purpose, passion and purity for the redemption of mankind. His desires for man are healing, deliverance and salvation for all who would follow Him!

In order to cleanse and renew the mind of man the blood of Jesus must be applied, and the man freed from his sins and ancestral assignments! Then he must study and meditate on the word of God replacing old mindsets and worldly views concentrating on taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ! Clean out the old and fill your mind with the NEW!

But his delight is in the Word of the Lord and in His Word, he meditates day and night. Psalm 1:2

I beseech you therefore brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. Romans 12:1

When I joined the Marine Corps in 68 my body and my life belonged to them, I was no longer my own to do that which I wished but had to obey their every command! So it is with Christ, our service and sacrifice are all for Him, we no longer live for ourselves but submit to Him living His life through us!

For the new creation, born again New Men on this earth we must understand this new covenant and the fact that Jesus walks and lives in a fleshly body made up of supernatural transformed human beings who have presented themselves to His service! Sounds strange to the untrained or the lost, but that is the miracle of the new birth, Christ in us, the hope of glory!

Remember Pentecost, where 120 followers of the Lord Jesus waited on His promise and were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they went out and through His ministry through them they transformed the world around them until man got his hands on the church and institutionalized it! Satan made the church of Jesus Christ a state religion and killed the supernatural power of its people and it has been passed down through the ages until today!

"I have been crucified with Christ, it is no longer I who live but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave Himself for me." Galatians 2:20

Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Hebrews 4:14,15

The old priesthood was done away with at the cross and the veil of separation was torn from top to bottom by the angels, signifying our access by faith into the throne of God by the shed blood of Jesus.

We as believers no longer confess our sins to a man but to the High Priest, Jesus Christ! Our mediator of a new covenant, written in blood by the author and perfector of our faith and Savior of our souls. Jesus understands our spiritual condition, trials and temptations being temped in all things but without sin He is able to come to our aid!

By becoming new men, we are washed in the blood of Jesus, set free from all condemnation and released from our sins and transgressions! Commanded to love and commissioned to serve we are His Royal Priesthood sent to deliver the "Good News" of His gospel! Sealed unto redemption, we are delivered into the Kingdom and invited to receive mercy at the throne of God!

Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:16

Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over Him. For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God. Romans 6:8-10

As death no longer has dominion over the Lord Jesus, it no longer has dominion over us! Jesus died one time for us all, those who would submit themselves under His Lordship and receive the free gift of His sacrificial act by faith!

When Christ died, we died and as we died, we shall live with Him! Buried with Him in baptism and raised to new life in Christ, we are a supernatural race of believers, washed, filled and empowered to take the glorious gospel around the world with signs following. Freed from sin we walk in the Spirit as a new breed of disciple!

The New Man, having been set free from the law of sin and death now has access to the very throne of the Most High! As Jesus died on the cross the angels tore the curtain (the veil of separation) from top to bottomsignifying our ability to come before God through the blood of His Son, the old priesthood of human mediators was done away with and eventually the temple made with stone was destroyed creating a New Temple of living stone!

But now having been freed from sin, and having become slaves of God you have your fruit to holiness, and the end, everlasting life. Romans 6:22

Knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. For he who has died has been freed from sin. Romans 6:6,7

Jesus paid the price and suffered the penalty for our sins! He took the judgment for our sins that was due to us in order for us to be freed from sin and enslaved to righteousness. For the wages of sin is death, both physical and eternal for those who refuse to repent and die!

As Jesus was crucified on the cross and so are we, those of us who submit to His Lordship and die to the lusts of the flesh. The crucified life is one of death to self and the lusts and pleasures of the world, laying down one's life to follow Jesus, led by His Spirit!

One day Jesus was approached by a rich boy who asked Him, "Good Master what shall I do to inherit eternal life?" Jesus told him that neither goodness nor keeping the commandments would save him but letting go of his riches that had his heart and submitting his life to follow Jesus! This is our new life as New Men, totally sold out to follow Jesus!

"I have been crucified with Christ, it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me." Galatians 2:20

Therefore, we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. Romans 6:4

I don't know of anyone who was baptized that truly understood what was happening or what the purpose of baptism meant to a baby Christian. Today baptism means many different things to the church such as church membership, salvation or just a religious exercise that needs to be done in order for one to be a believer.

The truth of the matter is this, as Jesus Christ was crucified and died, He was buried and then by the power of God, resurrected into a new life in the Spirit! We also are baptized into His death as we are immersed in a watery grave, we are then resurrected into our new life as a New Man. So, baptism is our death, burial and resurrection into our new life in Christ!

This devotional study is intended for the believer to know who he is as a New Man in a world of darkness and lawlessness. Our spiritual journey is often clouded by tradition and doctrine, so we are conformed to church life, denomination or just made to believe we are nobodies in a religious world!

For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection. Romans 6:5

But now you yourselves are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth. Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds and have put on "The New Man" who is renewed in knowledge, according to the image of Him who created him. Colossians 3:8-10

The new birth is a miraculous transformation for a human being to become a New Man, a supernatural being made in the image of God! No longer bound to this world we are set free from sin and death and transferred into the kingdom of Christ!

Sadly, because of the tradition of men, denominational teaching and the doctrine of demons, many never experience the new birth, only making a mental ascent without the transforming power of the Holy Spirit. A terrible situation for millions of people who are simply religious church members, who sit in the pew Sunday after Sunday dying a long and painful death with no revelation, no Holy Spirit, no power and no salvation!

The New Man however is more than a conqueror, Spirit filled, renewed in body, mind and soul and a steward of the mysteries of God! Born from above, blood washed and delivered from the sting of death, he is One with Christ and God, bearing the image of Jesus!

He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed (transferred) us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins. Colossians 1:13,14
