"I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me." Galatians 2:20

We as believers have been crucified, our old fleshly nature killed, buried and resurrected into new creations in Christ! As the scripture states, "It is no longer I who live," but now Christ through the power of Holy Spirit indwells us.

So, now we live by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ having put to death the deeds of the flesh! It is hard to wrap our little human brains around the fact that we are now supernatural beings, set free from the domination of our fleshly bodies and called into a life in the Spirit! The reality of this miraculous transformation is that we become the actual body of Jesus in the earth, called to do the greater works of faith in Him!

From a worm to a butterfly is our supernatural metamorphosis, being transformed into kingdom beings and transferred into God's kingdom in the earth. Born from above to walk on the earth as it is in the Kingdom of Heaven with all power and authority to rule and reign in Jesus name!

Jesus has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed (transferred) us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins. Colossians 1:13,14

Now when the devil had ended every temptation, he departed from Him until an opportune time. Luke 4:13

Jesus was tempted in all things so He could minister to us in our time of temptation and knowing who He was gave Him power to overcome the devil! Knowing who we are in Christ is one of our most important weapons against the onslaught of the powers of darkness!

When we are born-again, we are forgiven of all our sins and delivered from darkness and transferred into the Kingdom of Light! We are then transformed into new creations in Christ, no longer condemned, we are washed in the Savior's blood! Many know the scriptures of who we are in Christ, but most fail to appropriate it into their lives and when Satan comes to rob, kill and destroy, they immediately fall!

If we saw ourselves in the Spirit as the powers of darkness see us, we would know and understand that we are no longer just old sinners saved by gracewe are more than conquerors, filled with Holy Spirit power from on high, crucified with Christ, buried with Him in baptism and raised from the dead into the supernatural realm of God's kingdom on earth! PRAISE GOD! AMEN!

For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Hebrews 4:15

Then he brought Him to Jerusalem, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him, "If you are the Son of God, throw Yourself down from here. "For it is written: 'He shall give His angels charge over You, to keep You.' "And in their hands they shall bear You up, lest You dash Your foot against a stone." Luke 4:9-11

Imagine the spectacle this would have caused, seeing Jesus in front of the hundreds of people who gathered beneath the temple, jumping off and angels rushing to catch Him in mid-air and gently setting Him down! The devil was trying to deceive Jesus with the scripture. Beware, he knows it better than you!

They would have immediately pronounced Him King of all kings, but Jesus didn't perform death-defying feats or magic tricks to gain disciples, he preached the Word, and His miracles were acts of compassion unless He was teaching His followers, but never in a prideful or arrogant exhibition! This is what the devil has done today with all of the "Big name preachers," boasting of their great miracles for money and arrogantly proclaiming their power!

Throughout the history of the true church, false prophets, charlatans and downright thieves have tried to cheat believers out of their money by claiming to perform miracles of healing and other astounding feats! Peter and John were praying for people to receive the Holy Spirit when Simon, a former sorcerer offered them money for their power, but they rebuked him for his wickedness!

"It has been said, 'You shall not tempt the Lord your God.' " Luke 4:12

Then the devil, taking Him up on a high mountain, showed Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. And the devil said to Him, "All this authority I will give You, and their glory; for this has been delivered to me, and I give it to whomever I wish." Luke 4:5,6

The devil came to me at the very tender age of about twelve or thirteen as I was standing on the lake road beneath our home on the hill when all of a sudden, the wind blew a page from a pornographic magazine, and it fell at my feet! Being an inquisitive young boy, I picked it up and from that point in my life, I was addicted!

The devil is a liar and does not possess any authority or does he have the ability to give you anything but Hell! One of the biggest mistakes I ever made was in high school when I quit football to go to the lake and totally missed any valuable lessons the discipline of sports would have given me. Not caring about school, I cut class on a regular basis and ended up married at sixteen and went to work for my father.

Things went pretty well until my dad died when I was 25 and I inherited the business of which I was not qualified to run, nor did I have the desire to succeed, but only to be wealthy and be able to party on through life. As I approached thirty, I had sold out my interest in the business to my older brother, squandered my proceeds on sex, drugs and alcohol and ended up cutting scrap metal in the hot Texas sun, my life was a total trainwreck!

"Therefore, if You will worship before me, all will be Yours." And Jesus answered and said, "Get behind Me Satan!" For it is written, 'You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.'  Luke 4:7,8

Then Jesus, being filled with the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, being tempted for forty days by the devil. And in those days He ate nothing, and afterward, when they had ended, He was hungry. And the devil said to Him, "If You are the Son of God, command this stone to become bread." Luke 4:1-3

In the previous messages of Old Testament men of God, they all knew who they were and to whom they belonged in order to stand in faith and believe! The question is, "Do you?" Jesus was baptized by John in the Jordan, the heavens opened, and the Holy Spirit descended upon Him in the form of a dove and then in an audible voice God said, "This is My beloved Son in whom I am well pleased."

Now, in the wilderness, tired, hungry and all alone, the devil tested His faith by questioning who He really was and said, "If you are the Son of God!" If?Was there any doubt? Now put yourself in Jesus's sandals, when you are weak and tired out and the devil comes to tempt you, do you stand your ground and believe, or sink in despair and fall on your face? The devil is a coward and a seducer who comes when people are on their last legs, just as the lions wait for the weak, the young and the stragglers before they attack their prey!

Jesus spoke out and said to Satan, "It is written!" This is where we gain our strength to overcome the powers of darkness, we show ourselves approved to God as workmen who rightly divide the word of God! Ref. II Timothy 2:15If you expect to see miracles, signs and wonders, you must know the word of God and the promises He has made to you in order to stand against the schemes of the devil!

"It is written, 'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.' " Luke 4:4

"All the governors of the kingdom, the administrators and satraps, the counselors and advisors have consulted together to establish a royal statute and to make a firm decree, that whoever petitions any god or man for thirty days, except you, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions." Daniel 6:7

Although the king had appointed three governors over the kingdom of whom Daniel was one, there was a royal edict that no one could petition or pray to any god or man for thirty days. As was his custom, Daniel prayed three times a day when the leaders of the kingdom who were trying to condemn him found him praying and told the king!

The king, reminded of the edict didn't want to punish Daniel but had to honor his word, even though he prayed and fasted that God would protect Daniel! His sleep was robbed from him that night and the next morning he went to the lion's den and cried out to Daniel, "Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God whom you serve continually been able to deliver you from the lions?"

Because Daniel was a servant of the Most High and a man of faith who possessed a spirit of courage and honesty, God sent an angel to close the mouths of the lions! Not a hair on Daniel's head was touched and God delivered him from danger and death as He will also do for us if we believe in His word! Claim Psalm 91 for yourselves and your loved ones for protection!

"My God sent His angel and shut the lion's mouths, so that they have not hurt me, because I was found innocent before Him and also O king, I have done no wrong before you." Daniel 6:22

Then a herald cried aloud: "To you it is commanded, O peoples, nations, and languages, that at the time you hear the sound of the horn, flute, harp, lyre, and psaltery, in symphony with all kinds of music, you shall fall down and worship the gold image that King Nebuchadnezzar has set up; and whoever does not fall down and worship shall be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace." Daniel 3:4,5

Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah, the Hebrew names of Shadrack, Meshack and Abednego refused the command to bow down to the golden image which is a prophetic warning to us today concerning the worship of and obedience to, the image of the beast!

The devil wants to control us and today, China, Iran, Russia and North Korea, not to mention the Democrat socialist party, all controlled by demons also want to control us! The three lads in Daniel refused to be controlled and were thrown into a fiery furnace that represents to us in these last days, persecution, and even imprisonment for any civil disobedience or pushback from the body of Christ!

Jesus warned us that in the end times people's love would grow cold because lawlessness would abound and so it is, where even the District Attorneys and local prosecutors are letting hardened criminals back out on the street! The spirit of Anti-Christ is being poured out around the world and the powers of darkness are robbing, killing and destroying everything in their way in their quest to control of the world!

Now the beast which I saw was like a leopard, his feet were like the feet of a bear, and his mouth like the mouth of a lion. The dragon gave him his power, his throne, and great authority. Revelation 13:2

The Statue below was recently placed in front of the United Nations, illustrating the Anti-Christ's presence in America and around the world!

And the men of Gibeon sent to Joshua at the camp at Gilgal, saying, "Do not forsake your servants; come up to us quickly, save us and help us, for all the kings of the Amorites who dwell in the mountains have gathered together against us." Joshua 10:6

Possibly the greatest miracle in the Bible was about to be performed by God for Joshua in that the sun and the moon would stand still as they waged war with their enemies! The five kings of the Amorites had come against the men of Gibeon, and they cried to Joshua for help!

The Lord spoke to Joshua and said that he had delivered his enemies into his hand and that not a man of them would stand! God sent large hailstones against his enemies and killed more than the men of Israel did. In order for the people to have revenge upon their enemies Joshua spoke to the Lord: "Sun, stand still over Gibeon; and moon, in the valley of Aijalon," So the sun stood still, and the moon stopped, till the people had revenge upon their enemies.

For the sun and moon to stop would be the greatest miracle ever because God would have had to stop the entire universe in order for these two heavenly bodies to stop their orbit! But with God all things are possible to those who believe!

So, the sun stood still in the midst of Heaven and did not hasten to go down for about a whole day. And there has been no day like that, before it or after it, that the Lord heeded the voice of a man; for the Lord fought for Israel. Joshua 10:13,14

"It shall come to pass, when they make a long blast with the ram's horn, and when you hear the sound of the trumpet, that all the people shall shout with a great shout; then the wall of the city will fall down flat. And the people shall go up every man straight before him." Joshua 6:5

Just imagine having spent forty years in the wilderness with God providing all of your needs and then a new generation arises from the sand of the wilderness to cross the Jordan into a new land to defeat the walled city of Jerico! Moses is dead and a new leader is anointed to lead all of Israel!

God commanded the sons of Israel to be circumcised before they went into Jerico, and God changed the name of the land to Gilgal which means"Liberty" because God rolled away the reproach of Egypt from them. The old generation was gone, and a new generation was now ready to trust and obey the voice of the Most High!

There is much to see from this story of obedience and faith in that when we take God at His word, miraculous things happen. The scripture is full of the miracles of God that took place when His people believed! The children of Israel who came out of Egypt died in the wilderness because they refused to believe and a two-week journey to the promised land took 40 years!

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths. Proverbs 3:5,6

And the Lord said to Joshua, "See! I have given Jerico into your hand, its king, and the mighty men of valor." Joshua 6:2

Joshua was about to undertake a monumental task to move a nation across a river, take down the formidable city of Jerico and trust God to go before them to provide all of their needs! Just the daily statistics of feeding the entire nation of Israel and their livestock was overwhelming and an impossible feat without God!

When launching out in faith, one must have the word of God to engage in your endeavor and be strong in the belief that God will in fact go before you! Many a fool has proceeded to obtain some wonderful dream or vision and God is nowhere to be found and has not endorsed it! Years ago, when I was still selling equipment, I was desperate to get an order to rebuild a machine for a company in the stockyards, but the door wouldn't open, and I was really upset that it just wasn't happening.

On the way down to talk to the engineers and try to get the order it came on the radio that there was an ammonia leak and explosion killing those whom I was about to meet with! So, you had better check in with God before you miss Him and end up all alone by yourself! Joshua, on the other hand had the word of God, the anointing, and the courage to go and fulfill his mission in which was about to unfold with the priests taking the ark into the Jordan!

And the Lord said to Joshua, "This day I will begin to exalt you in the sight of all Israel, that they may know that, as I was with Moses, so I will be with you." Joshua 3:7

"Moses my servant is dead. Now therefore, arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people to the land which I am giving to them, the children of Israel. "Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given you, as I said to Moses." Joshua 1:2,3

God was doing a new thing with new leadership to mobilize His people to cross over the Jordan and possess the land He had given them! In order to be a leader, one must first have been led as a servant of another and Joshua had done just that, being a faithful servant to Moses.

The attributes of a good leader is to be courageous in the face of great danger, to walk in faith, trusting in the word of God and to meditate on the word, night and day! Joshua had all of these characteristics, being a mighty man of God, a warrior and at the same time, a humble servant who knew and experienced the presence of the Most high!

Imagine the shear scope of this gigantic feat, to move thousands upon thousands of people who had all of their needs met in the wilderness only to become self-sufficient, cross a river and enter an uncharted territory rumored to be a land of giants! Another impossible mountain for the people of God to move by "The Creative Power of Faith!"

"No man will be able to stand before you all the days of your life; as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will never leave you nor forsake you. "Be strong and of good courage, for to this people you shall divide as an inheritance the land which I swore to their fathers to give them." Joshua 1:5,6

Elijah found Elisha the son of Shaphat who was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen before him, and he was with the twelfth. Then Elijah passed by him and threw his mantle on him. I Kings 19:19

Elijah, a type of Christ came to Elisha, a type and shadow of the "Double Portion" church of the future and threw His mantle, (anointing) on him just as Jesus sent Holy Spirit on the 120 at Pentecost!

The twelve yoke of oxen represent the twelve apostles of the Lamb. When Elisha slaughtered his twelve oxen, boiled them and used his equipment to build the fire it represented the apostles dying to the world and then when Elisha gave the meat to the people it was a shadow of the twelve giving their lives to others as their servants.

Nearing his time when the Lord would take him up, Elijah asked Elisha, "Ask! What I may do for you, before I am taken away from you?" Elisha said, "Please let a double portion of your spirit be upon me." Then it happened, suddenly a chariot of fire appeared with horses of fire and the double portion anointing fell upon Elisha!

And suddenly there came a sound from Heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit (double portion anointing) and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. Acts 2:2-4

"Now therefore, send and gather all Israel to me on Mount Carmel, the four hundred and fifty prophets of Baal, and the four hundred prophets of Asherah, (Canaanite goddess) who eat at Jezebel's table." I Kings 18:19

Elijah confronted the false prophets of Baal and Asherah and challenged them to build an altar to their god and he would also build one and the god who answered by fire would be God! And so it was, they took their bull and made a sacrifice and cried out to their god, but no answer.

Now this is the prophetic overview of the church of God in the future when Elijah repaired the altar of the Lord with twelve stones, representing the twelve tribes of Israel and the twelve apostles of the Lamb! He then dug a trench around the altar, laid the wood in place and cut the bull in pieces and then did something very strange! He had twelve waterpots of water poured out on the sacrifice that represented Israel's baptism of purification.

The sacrifice was prepared and laid on the altar of God and Elijah called upon the Lord to send fire from Heaven and so it was that the fire of God fell and consumed the sacrifice, the wood and licked up the water in the trench and the people fell on their faces and cried out, "The Lord, He is God!" Now, remember Jesus was our sacrifice and the assembly at Pentecost was His church and fire fell from Heaven and filled His people with the Holy Spirit and so it is up until this very day!

"And I will build My church and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it." Matthew 16:18

Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain; and it did not rain on the land for three years and six months. And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth produced its fruit. James 5:17,18

The scripture speaks of Elijah having a nature like ours, meaning he was a natural man with all the human characteristics that we have, but he performed supernatural feats of miraculous power because of the Divine Nature he possessed! Being born again, new creations in Christ, we also possess the Divine Nature of God!

I believe Elijah was a type of Christ and a shadow of His powerful church of the future with a double portion anointing! Elijah had all the earmarks of a highly anointed man of God who like Christ saw supernatural provision, raised the dead, and performed extraordinary supernatural works! In Elijah's day the land was ruled by the wicked couple, Ahab and Jezebel, king and queen of doom who had the prophets of the Lord murdered!

As the Lord Jesus confronted the religious leadership of His day, so Elijah would confront Ahab and the prophets of Baal and challenge them to a duel of sorts to see who would serve God or the devil! In the next few devotional teachings, we will see the outcome of Elijah's challenge and the "Double portion anointed church of the future!"

Then it happened when Ahab saw Elijah, that Ahab said to him, "Is that you, O troubler of Israel?" And he answered, "I have not troubled Israel, but you and your father's house have, in that you have forsaken the commandments of the Lord and have followed the Baals." I Kings 18:17,18

And a champion went out from the camp of the Philistines, named Goliath from Gath, whose height was six cubits and a span. I Samuel 17:4

How could a puny runt of a kid who wasn't even recognized by his own father to be anointed by Samuel the prophet kill a nine-foot-nine giant? The answer is faith and knowing who you are and to whom you belong! David knew that the battle was the Lord's, and he also had a rock-solid relationship with the Most High!

When David appeared on the scene, the giant was taunting the armies of Israel so he inquired what the man who killed Goliath would get and then through his brother and others, fear, doubt and unbelief tried to stop him from the fight! David wasn't moved by fear because he had already killed a lion and a bear in the fields of his father and this Philistine was just another mountain to be moved by his faith in God!

Undaunted by the giant's curses, he chose five smooth stones and ran toward the battle, sling in hand, and in faith he slung it and hit the giant in his forehead, then took his sword and cut off his head! Problem solved! Do you have a Goliath in your life? If so, trust God and by faith say to this giant, be moved, just as Jesus said to do with all the mountains in your life!

Yet in all things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. Romans 8:37

"Speak to all the congregation of Israel, saying: 'On the tenth of this month every man shall take for himself a lamb, according to the house of his father, a lamb for a household.' " Exodus 12:3

The children of Israel had been enslaved for hundreds of years by the Egyptians and God had appointed a deliverer to bring them out of bondage. A miracle in itself that the "Prince of Egypt" who was banished from his position and sent out into the desert to die would eventually become the man who would deliver all of Israel!

Moses was called into leadership by keeping sheep for his father-in-law in the wilderness, a humbling experience for one who built the cities of Egypt! After a holy visitation from God Almighty in a bush on a mountain, Moses was sent to Egypt to set His people free! Moses confronted Pharoah on various occasions through the plagues as God hardened his heart until the very last plague, the plague of death!

Pharoah had cursed his own son as the destroyer went through all of Egypt killing the firstborn of the Egyptians including Pharoah's son. In the midst of the outcries of the city the children of Israel were protected in their homes by the blood of a lamb on the doorpost! A type and shadow of our salvation experience, Israel believed and were saved just as we are by trusting in the shed blood of the Lamb of God.

And it came to pass, on that very same day, that the Lord brought the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt. Exodus 12:51

Then God brought Abram outside and said, "Look now toward Heaven, and count the stars if you are able to number them." And He said to him, "So shall your descendants be." Genesis 15:5

The promises of God are yes and amen! Within the scriptures, there are thousands of promises from God to us, if we will only believe them and appropriate them into our lives! God promised Abram and eventually, it came to pass, making Him a father of many nations!

For a man with a wife too old for childbirth and barren, that was a stretch for Abram to believe! But with God all things are possible! Thinking that maybe God meant for him to have a son by a fertile woman, his maidservant, Hagar, and leaning on his own understanding, she conceived and birthed a son named Ishmael. Do you have any Ishmaels in your life?

Abram's wife laughed when she heard the promise, but eventually after a drastic mistake with Hagar she conceived and birthed a son named Isaac, the child of promise! It takes endurance and patience to take hold of the promises of God and wait for the blessing, but it will be more than worth it to stand and see the glory of God!

And he believed in the Lord, and He accounted it to him for righteousness. Genesis 15:6

But without faith it is impossible to please God, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. Hebrews 11:6

God has given us all a measure of faith to exercise and stretch out to believe Him for miracles, signs and wonders. Early on in my walk I began to seek the baptism in the Holy Spirit but being in a Southern Baptist Church my options were limited until God sent me to another Baptist church 1000 miles away and filled me with His Spirit and transformed me into His vessel!

Throughout scripture, men and women have trusted God and have seen the glory manifest in their lives. Elijah, Elisha, Abraham, David and a host of others trusted in the mighty power of God and saw His miracles of grace, mercy and strength quench the power of their enemies, shut lion's mouths and even turned back the sun on the sundial of Ahaz for Hezikiah.

Hezikiah was sick and near death when he cried out to God, and He gave him a sign that He would heal him and defeat his enemies. The sign He gave was that the shadow on the sundial would move back 10 degrees, which was an impossible feat, to stop the movement of the sun and move it backwards! But He is a rewarder of our faith!

"Behold, I will bring the shadow on the sundial, which has gone down with the sun on the sundial of Ahaz, ten degrees backward." So, the sun returned ten degrees on the dial by which it had gone down. Isaiah 38:8

On the third day there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there. Now both Jesus and His disciples were invited to the wedding. And when they ran out of wine, the mother of Jesus said to Him, "They have no wine." John 2:1-3

When we think of Mary, the mother of Jesus we think of a holy woman of God (which she was) levitating on a cloud of glory with a halo on her head and a righteous look on her face, but according to history she was a pudgy little housewife who loved her husband and children, yes, Jesus had brothers and sisters!

Mary said to Jesus, "They have no wine." Now up until this time Jesus had not performed any miracles, so, did Mary receive a revelation from God, or did she want him to run down to the market and buy some wine? Jesus told the servants to fill the six water pots with water that were used for the washing of feet and hands for purification and draw out some and take it to the master (headwaiter) of the feast.

The servants obeyed and the master of the feast was amazed that the bridegroom would serve the best wine last! Now the significance of the water pots was this, "The number six represents imperfection, as in man's condition and his attempt to purify himself. From Jesus comes living water and represents perfection and the wine represents the blood shed to purify the sins of man!"

This is the beginning of signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee and manifested His glory; and His disciples believed in Him. John 2:11

And He gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints (us) for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect (complete) man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ. Ephesians 4:11-13

Wow! That is a scripture full of the revelation of the body of Christ and the dynamics of the unity of the faith! First of all, unity is not sitting around the campfire singing kumbaya, it is the supernatural bond between brothers and sisters in Christ whose divine unification comes from Koinonia, the Greek word for fellowship and having all things in common!

The first church at Pentecost were all in one accord waiting on the promise of God and they were all filled with His Holy Spirit! United in faith and believing the promise that Jesus gave them, they saw and experienced the outcome, and all spoke in tongues! This very first miracle and operation of the most controversial gift rendered the first harvest of 3000 souls from out of town.

Power from on High, fire from Heaven and supernatural works were the first signs of a miraculous church that grew exponentially for the next few years. United in faith and having all things in common they were an example for us to follow!

"But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth." Acts 1:8
