BLOOD COVENANT

But one of the soldiers pierced His side with a spear, and immediately blood and water came out. and he who has seen has testified, and his testimony is true; and he knows that he is telling the truth, so that you may believe. For these things were done that the scripture should be fulfilled , "Not one of His bones shall be broken," And again another scripture says, "They shall look on Him whom they pierced." John 19:34-37

Jesus suffered and died with a heart broken over the sins of mankind! By the time He reached the cross on Golgotha he was suffering from hypovolemic shock caused from the loss of blood that was a result of His scourging.

He bled in seven specific areas to set us free from all of our sins, sicknesses, diseases, transgressions and iniquities making His sacrifice sufficient for us all to be set free once and for all! A perfect sacrifice from the death, burial and resurrection of a Lamb without spot or blemish who laid down His life that we might live forever!

His heart was broken to heal the brokenhearted of this world. All of the emotional trauma caused by failure, divorce, death and sickness was healed by the breaking of the Savior's heart! Is your heart broken? Did you know that He will heal you if you ask Him in faith believing in the "Blood Covenant" that was inaugurated for you with His own blood?

"The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed; to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord." Luke 4:18,19

NOTE: There is evidence from Scripture that Jesus experienced hypovolemic shock as a result of being flogged. As Jesus carried His own cross to Golgotha (John 19:17), He collapsed, and a man named Simon was forced to either carry the cross or help Jesus carry the cross the rest of the way to the hill (Matthew 27:32–33; Mark 15:21–22; Luke 23:26). This collapse indicates Jesus had low blood pressure. Another indicator that Jesus suffered from hypovolemic shock was that He declared He was thirsty as He hung on the cross (John 19:28), indicating His body’s desire to replenish fluids. Prior to death, the sustained rapid heartbeat caused by hypovolemic shock also causes fluid to gather in the sack around the heart and around the lungs. This gathering of fluid in the membrane around the heart is called pericardial effusion, and the fluid gathering around the lungs is called pleural effusion. This explains why, after Jesus died and a Roman soldier thrust a spear through Jesus’ side, piercing both the lungs and the heart, blood and water came from His side just as John recorded in his Gospel (John 19:34).

BLOOD COVENANT

But to which of the angels has He ever said: "Sit at My right hand, Till I make Your enemies Your footstool"? Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation? Hebrews 1:13,14

When the spike was driven through the feet of Jesus the blood that flowed crushed the head of the devil and all his angels! The powers of darkness were disarmed forever with only the power to deceive and they were totally defeated by the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ!

The enemies of God had become a footstool for our feet and defeated foes forever. Their only weapons against the believer are deceit, deception and lies! To have victory one must learn spiritual warfare, be baptized in the Holy Spirit and know the Word of the living God! Remember if the devil is speaking in your ear, he's not under your feet where he belongs!

Jesus has given us as disciples all power and authority over our enemies and He promised us that nothing would harm us! It is up to us to keep these demons under our feet and not listen to their lies and schemes! Be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might!

And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it. Colossians 2:13-15

BLOOD COVENANT

And when they had come to a place called Golgotha, that is to say, Place of a Skull, they gave Him sour wine mingled with gall to drink. But when He tasted it, He would not drink. Then they crucified Him, and divided His garments, casting lots, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet: "They divided My garments among them, and for My clothing they cast lots." Matthew 27:33-35

The Roman crucifixion was a horrible way to execute someone in order to display their death and punishment to the world that brought fear on all who saw it! By the time Jesus was nailed upon the cross He had bled from His sweat glands, been beaten beyond recognition, whipped with the Cat-of-Nine tails 39 times, crowned with thorns thrust into His scalp and now, nailed to a tree!

The scripture states that He was pierced for our transgressions, in other words when the nails pierced His hands the blood that was drawn forgave all of our transgressions, trespasses and rebellious acts against His word! Transgression means: a willful deviation from the path of righteousness or a premeditated crossing of the line of God's law. Most crimes are committed with our hands and Jesus bled to cleanse us from our sinful conduct!

A horrible sight to see as the Lamb of God was nailed and bleeding on the cross for us all who deserved the punishment He was suffering for our sins, transgressions and iniquities! By His death and merciful act of compassion for a world steeped in sin and rebellion He died for all that we who received His mercy might be forgiven and born again to become New Creations in Christ!

Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded (pierced through) for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed. Isaiah 53:4,5

BLOOD COVENANT

Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise Him; He has put Him to grief. When You make His soul an offering for sin, He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days, And the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in His hand. He shall see the labor of His soul, and be satisfied. By His knowledge My righteous Servant shall justify (pardon) many, For He shall bear their iniquities. Isaiah 53:10,11

Jesus was beaten and bruised beyond recognition for our iniquities. Iniquity is defined as crookedness, perverseness, or an evil regarded as that which is not straight or upright, moral distortion or perverted. Jesus bled inside being bruised to forgive our iniquities and wash away our sins with His own blood.

Beaten likened to a prizefighter would have made His face swollen and bruised so badly that He would not have been recognized even by His own mother! He took upon Himself the iniquities of all mankind and the punishment that we deserved! Imagine the weight of the iniquity of the world from the time of Adam until today, heaped upon the shoulders of the Lord Jesus Christ, an unimaginable punishment in itself crushing Him!

His blood healed the bruising of our iniquities as He bled inside His body for us to whom the punishment was due, breaking the generational curses that have been inherited by millions of unsuspecting people for eons! The Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world!

But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned, every one, to his own way; And the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all. Isaiah 53:5,6
