For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. Romans 8:14

Who's your Daddy? Who is leading you down the paths of life, Holy Spirit or the father of lies, Satan? Better find out quick because one leads to life eternal and the other eternal damnation in the lake of fire!

Those who are led by the Great Shepherd live in peace, enjoy all the provision and joy of the Lord and even though they walk through valleys of death their Shepherd never leaves them! One way to know who is leading someone is to look at their life, is it filled with the fruit of the Spirit or are they consumed with the worries and cares of this world?

One of the greatest books I have ever read is, "A Shepherd looks at the 23rd Psalm" by Phillip Keller who was a shepherd at one time in South Africa. In his book he describes the good fruit of a loving shepherd who cares for his flock at all costs, and the consequences of his neighbor's flock that was severely malnourished and left to fend for themselves!

The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake. Psalm 23:1-3

For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For to the carnal (fleshly) minded is death, but to the spiritually minded is life and peace. Romans 8:5,6

The difference in the spiritual man and the man who lives in the flesh is likened to someone who is married but does not live with his spouse, he has the marriage license, he had a ceremony, (walked an isle) even repeated the vows (sinner's prayer) but no longer lives with his wife, instead living for himself.

The spiritual man on the other hand loves his spouse with all of his heart, soul, mind, and strength, living for her and providing for her and so it is to walk in the Spirit! The spiritual man loves God, meditates day and night in His word, ever longing to hear His voice and to please Him in all things!

I have seen countless people over the years who were good church-going folks, in Sunday school and even some in the choir, but when they leave the building it is business as usual, no spiritual life, only worldly talk without the walk. This is someone who is religious like the Pharisees, always looking down their noses at others, judging everything they do, but having no spiritual life within themselves!

Because the carnal mind is enmity (hostility) against God; for it is not subject to the law of God nor indeed can be. So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God. Romans 8:7,8

There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. Romans 8:1

Remember the old saying, even tattooed on many tough guys and felons, "Born to Lose?" Well, all have sinned and are indeed born to lose their souls unless they become born again believers in Jesus Christ!

We as His spiritual children who are washed in the blood and forgiven of all our transgressions are no longer condemned to damnation, but free in Christ to inherit salvation leading to eternal life! We are born again to win and be free from sin to live in victory in Jesus, putting to death the deeds of the flesh and walking in the Spirit of life and peace.

Even though we are freed from sin and no longer condemned, we still have that rotten, stinking corpse that we can sometimes feel tugging at us to look back and see that old dead man and the life we once lived! Resist him and keep your eyes straight ahead looking at things above where the Lord Jesus is, sitting at the right hand of God!

For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. Romans 8:2

O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? Romans 7:24

The Romans were a cruel brood of torturers who could keep people alive for days, even weeks as they were crucified, left to rot on a cross for the birds of the air to eat! Another horrible act of cruelty was to chain a corpse to a healthy person until the disease and decomposition killed them. So it is with our "Old Man!"

We are born again into supernatural beings, washed in the blood of Christ, and set free from the law of sin and death! But, there is a fleshly corpse tied to us, our old human, fleshly man who was crucified with Christ, lowered into the grave of baptism, considered dead to us, but the stench of that old life still haunts at times our spiritual man.

In order to walk in the Spirit, one has to keep "The old man in the grave!" That old life that appears sometimes out of nowhere to tempt us and try our resolve is always there and the smell of death that surrounds us can only be removed by the beautiful fragrance of Christ! This is walking in the Spirit!

But now you yourselves are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language, out of your mouth. Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds, and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him. Colossians 3:8-10

If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Colossians 3:1

Seeking the things of the world will greatly hinder your walk in the Spirit, but to seek those things above will enhance your spiritual journey. In the scripture, there is much said about loving the world and the things of it!

Our hearts are spiritual gardens that either produce good fruit, the fruit of the Spirit, or the fruit (deeds or works) of the flesh. The parable of the sower explains the different types of soil in which our heart contains and gives instruction of how to cultivate our spiritual garden! As it is to plant, cultivate and hoe an earthly garden, so it is with a spiritual garden.

The kind of seed planted determines what the garden produces, the seed of the Word produces life, and the fruit of the Spirit and the seed of this world and its lusts produce death! The Word is life and according to Hebrews it is living and active and when planted in good soil it produces the righteous fruit of the Holy Spirit!

But he who received seed on the good ground is he who hears the word and understands it, who indeed bears fruit and produces some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty. Matthew 13:23

He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in Him I will trust. Psalm 91:1,2

My dad was a big man, strong and husky and as a child when I walked with him I stayed in his shadow knowing that I was safe and that nothing could harm me. So it is with our God and Father whose shadow covers us as we walk in the Spirit.

In a spiritual world, not all is well as the powers of darkness are ever-present to rob, kill and destroy our lives and bring us into darkness, off the narrow road that leads to life. Like bandits waiting on the stagecoach of old, they hide alongside the paths we travel waiting to rob us, but we must remember who our fortress is, the Most High God we serve who is our Protector!

Walking in the Spirit demands spiritual sharpness, eyes that see and ears open to the voice of the Spirit who leads us. As we walk in the flesh our five senses lead us, sometimes in the wrong direction and that is why we must be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might!

Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler (trapper) and from the perilous pestilence. Psalm 91:3

The steps of a good man are ordered (established) by the Lord, and He delights in his way, though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down; for the Lord upholds him with His hand. Psalm 37:23,24

Imagine every step you take is ordered by the Lord, every breath and every heart beat are all established and ordered by God! He is our Creator and knows every single minute detail of our being. I know we feel alone sometimes, hopeless and without any comfort, but remember who formed you in the womb and who walks with you on the eternal journey!

As humans we stumble and fall like young children taking their first steps, but if we have been born again we are supernatural beings made in the image of God and God is our Father, always there to pick us up and dust us off, encouraging us to keep walking the walk! This is walking in the Spirit, staying close to the Father and our eyes on heavenly things.

We as His children, the sheep of His pasture walk with Him in the midst of danger and tribulation, storms and darkness, but by faith we walk with the Most High who is our Protector and the Shepherd of our lives!

I have been young and now I am old; yet I have not seen His righteous forsaken, nor His descendants begging bread. He is ever merciful and lends and His descendants are blessed. Psalm 37:25,26

Trust in the Lord with all of your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct (make smooth or straight) your paths. Proverbs 3:5,6

Walking the path of life in these uncertain times can be very trying to say the least. In order to traverse the ways of God, one must trust in His wisdom, knowledge, and direction to lead us through the many roadblocks, detours, and potholes of spiritual life!

Being a believer in the 21st century is becoming harder and harder with persecution beginning to rise and the economy collapsing. Fear, doubt and unbelief are our enemies and attack us on a regular basis, trying to persuade us to lean on our understanding of something rather than putting our trust in God.

God knows us better than we know ourselves and He is more than capable to lead us through the storms of life and He always has our best interests in mind so that we can be blessed and at rest! Give Him the reigns and let Him drive while you give Him all of your heart!

Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart. Psalm 37:3,4

The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want, He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness, for His name's sake. Psalm 23:1-3

For one to walk in the Spirit he must first be led by the Spirit and to be led by the Spirit, one must belong to the flock of Christ! Is the Lord your Shepherd? Are you a sheep in His flock or a goat in the devil's flock?

If you are born again and Jesus is your Lord, He will begin to lead you in paths of righteousness and will provide all of your needs because He is the Good Shepherd. The devil, on the other hand, will lead you into pits of despair and hopelessness, off the narrow road and onto the highway to Hell!

Sheep are the only animals that need a human to lead them, but in our case, we need a supernatural leader, Jesus, the Shepherd of our souls. He will care for us and provide all that we as His sheep need in order to walk in the Spirit with Him! So, join the flock of God and make Jesus Lord, and come on the greatest journey you will ever make!

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff comfort me. Psalm 23:4

"Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it." Matthew 7:13

America is full of roads, streets, paths and detours, but for one to find his way to his desired destination he must have GPS! Religion also has many ways to get to Heaven, or so they say, but there is only One way to eternal life, Jesus, Who is the way, the truth and the life.

In order to traverse the path that leads to life one must not only be born again, but must submit under the Lordship of Christ! Many today claim to be Christians but don't follow Jesus. They go to church, talk the talk, but never walk the walk that leads them to life eternal. The relationship we are to have is like a marriage, having an exclusive Partner just like a husband and wife have of mutual admiration and devotion.

After Jesus spoke of the narrow road He warned us of false prophets who would come to us looking like sheep, but inwardly they are wolves! Today there are multitudes filling the airwaves with pollution and false doctrine even though they proclaim they are believers, but as Jesus said, "They are wolves!"

"Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it." Matthew 7:14

"You shall have no other gods before Me. You shall not make for yourself a carved image, any likeness of anything that is in Heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I the Lord your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me." Exodus 20:3-5

My grandfather ran a dairy farm in Illinois for his rich father who was a Judge in Saint Louis to supply dairy products for his hotel in Chicago which more than likely was a brothel. My grandfather and his brother conspired to deem the Judge to be incompetent and get his money.

Number one, you don't sue your father, and number two, especially if he is a Judge! In any case, it didn't go well and the old man left my grandfather $1.00 in his will! One night the barn caught fire and my grandfather ran into the inferno to save the cars and never came out.

My father eventually moved to Ft. Worth and died of cancer at age 63. His home and an expensive boathouse burned down after his death, as well as his office and when my mother moved into a condo it caught of fire in the first month. The 10,000 square foot home in Illinois eventually burned down also.

Along with this curse of fire and premature death came divorce, of which nine of us in the immediate family of twelve suffered, my dad was the only one who escaped except he died a premature death and my nephew also.

We would do well to heed the warnings in God's word to flee idolatry because it is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God!

Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us. Galatians 3:13

Jesus shed His blood for us to break the generational curse of sin and death and set us free from its consequences! Although these curses are broken when we are born again, sometimes it is necessary to appropriate that which has already been done!

In order to break the generational curse, we must ask that our unfaithful ancestors be forgiven of their sins and then we can proceed to pray and break them off of us and our children. The main reason that we have to be born again is the fact that Adam sinned and we must be washed from the curse that came down on all mankind.

As you repent of all sin in your life, then ask that your ancestors be forgiven also, then pray and ask that the blood shed for you wash away every curse of sin and death in Jesus' name! Holy Spirit will give you revelation and guide you to your deliverance.

And as we have born the image of the man of dust, (Adam) we shall also bear the image of the heavenly Man. (Jesus) I Corinthians 15:49

Heavenly Father please forgive me of all sin, transgressions, and trespasses that I have committed against You and also forgive those in my bloodline who have sinned. I repent and receive the blood of the Lord Jesus to wash away every curse, word, spell, sickness disease and infirmity passed down upon me and my children and grandchildren to the fourth generation. In the name, power, and blood of the Lord Jesus Christ, I am free!

If you prayed that prayer let us know and for more information on generational curses and deliverance visit our website in the archive section. Thank you and God bless!

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such things there is no law. Galatians 5:22,23

Two trees, the tree of death, filled with the fruit of the flesh and the tree of life which yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness. There were two trees in the Garden of Eden too, the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and the tree of life.

Adam and Eve chose to eat of the tree in which God said not to eat, and if they did, they would surely die! Satan came along and said to them, "You surely shall not die!" But the outcome was death and expulsion from the garden, lest they also eat from the tree of life and live forever in sin! Because of one act of disobedience, all of mankind received the generational curse of sin, only removed by the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ!

If we are going to walk in the Spirit we must crucify our flesh, take up our cross and follow Jesus on the narrow road which leads to eternal life! When one is born again he must repent and forsake his sins and be delivered and washed in the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ that breaks the curse of sin and death!

And those who are Christ's have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Galatians 5:24,25

Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: drunkenness and revelries. Galatians 5:21

The word revelries come from the French word reveler meaning to rebel and together denote noisy partying and drunkenness. Its one thing to celebrate and have a party, but to be involved in constant drunken revelry is a sinful habit that leads to alcoholism, immorality, and debauchery!

The recent concert in Houston led to a tragic ending where people were injured and several died. Many large events lead to a frenzied state of excitement and when thousands of people are packed together it can lead to abject panic! It seems someone was jabbing needles filled with drugs into people's necks which caused fear to escalate and the crowds ran to escape!

Any time people are partying with alcohol and drugs it can turn into a dangerous situation with shootings, gang fights and rape. The nightly news is full of stories of how seemingly harmless gatherings turn into deadly mayhem! The outcome of walking in the flesh leads to the broad road of eternal damnation!

Those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. Galatians 5:21

Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: contentions, jealousies, outbursts of anger, wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, and murder. Galatians 5:20,21

For the sake of time and the fact that all of these works of the flesh usually hang out together, we will take a look at someone who has all of these attributes. Satan is the master of disaster and he is filled with wrath because of his expulsion from Heaven in which God had him and one-third of the angelic host thrown out!

Satan is also a master of disguise and subterfuge, which is to evade, escape, conceal or hide something. His greatest scheme is that he has convinced most people that he doesn't even exist. Although he doesn't possess any power to harm us, beware that through the use of his many ploys and schemes he can seduce us to sin against God and even cause our injury or death due to the consequences of our actions.

King David, a man after God's own heart, sweet psalmist of Israel, and mighty warrior was seduced one night by his beautiful neighbor bathing next door. As he gazed upon her naked body lust consumed him and he had her delivered to his bed-chamber where they made love and she became pregnant. From walking in the Spirit to allowing his flesh to take control, David committed adultery with Bathsheba and murdered her husband Uriah which carried two death sentences and the consequences of his actions followed him to the grave!

But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking (selfish ambition) in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth, this wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, and demonic. For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there. James 3:14,15

Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: hatred. Galatians 5:20

To hate someone is a terrible thing worthy of judgment and death. Hatred is a characteristic of Satan who hates God and everything He has created, including us! Hate is the opposite of love!

Hatred is being played out on the news with the left hating the right and the right hating the left in the political scene which is causing a great conflict for the American people. If Trump is mentioned, leftist heads and mainstream media's minds begin to explode! This is an end-time attack on that which is good and right with Satan poisoning the hearts of men with hatred!

As darkness begins to blanket the earth with a demonic delusion, blinding the eyes of nations to the light and glory of God, the world slowly sinks into a depraved state. Jesus warned us that lawlessness will increase and men's love for one another will grow cold! Beware of hatred taking hold of your heart because someone hurt or offended you because eventually, it will turn into a root of bitterness defiling many!

He who says he is in the light and hates his brother is in darkness until now. He who loves his brother abides in the light, and there is no cause for stumbling in him. But he who hates His brother is in darkness and walks in darkness, and does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes. I John 2:9-11

Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: sorcery. Galatians 5:20

The Greek word for sorcery is pharmakeia, having to do with drugs, potions, spells, and magic arts. This is where the name pharmacy was derived. Today illegal drugs are a plague in our nation and around the world.

A hopeless addict in 1978 with a $2000.00 per week cocaine addiction, plus taking a multitude of opiates, acid, exotic weed, opium, and hash as well as being an alcoholic, I was a mess! This eventually led me to Jesus and afterward, founder and director of Christian drug rehabs around the country. I have seen my share of promising, intelligent young men and women turned into zombies, the walking dead. Hopeless junkies being destroyed by what is commonly called witchcraft!

Today the works of black magic and witchcraft are prevalent in this country and a fascination to our youth, normally starting out with the Ouija board or spirit board. The telephone to Hell! Seems so harmless, but it opens demonic doors to the underworld. Why even Mickey Mouse is a sorcerer, so it must be OK! The devil starts out with the very young, indoctrinating them and brainwashing them to believe all of this is just harmless fun, but it is a deadly game that leads to death and Hell!

"But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murders, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death." Revelation 21:8

Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: idolatry. Galatians 5:20

Idolatry in the 21st century looks very different from ancient times but it is still the same sin. Today we have teen idols, movie stars, fast cars, pretty women, and men, not to mention the idols of silver and gold!

The worship of idols is whatever you love more than God! You can bow down to a graven image or you can worship any number of things shown nonstop on TV and the Internet! For example, pornography is an idol, your education can also be an idol, as well as anything that has your heart!

God's first commandment to us states that we shall have no other gods before Him! To disobey this command is to send a generational curse upon your children all the way down to the third and fourth generation. Millions have received a curse from the sin of idolatry and because of their disobedience, millions of their children have been cursed with sickness, poverty, and death!

Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: uncleanness and lewdness. Galatians 5:19

I have combined uncleanness and lewdness because they go together hand in hand and those who have an unclean spirit (demon) also many times have a lewd and dirty mind!

Years ago on one of my first visits to a poor family in need, as we entered the house there was a smell and from then on when I would minister to the poor and needy I would smell that smell which I believe is an unclean demon! This spirit is prevalent among the poor, drug addicts, alcoholics, and those who have lost all hope and have become unclean.

Lewdness is usually found in folks who are unclean and their minds are filled with vulgar and obscene thoughts and also have a filthy mouth. They constantly tell dirty jokes and speak with profanity, oftentimes mocking that which is good and right.

Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth, fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness which is idolatry. Because of these things the wrath (anger) of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience. Colossians 3:5,6

Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: fornication. Galatians 5:19

The definition of fornication is sexual intercourse between two people who are not married. It also carries with it a variety of other sexual sins including homosexuality which in God's eyes is an abomination!

Since America has experienced a sexual revolution that normalized sex and made nearly all sexual sins acceptable, we have continually gone into deep depravity. The apostle Paul rebuked the church at Corinth for not dealing with a young man for sleeping with his stepmother. They ignored it and Paul was livid, condemning the man and turning him over to Satan.

Many a man and woman of God have committed sexual immorality and received the penalty for their sins which carries the sentence of death! The wages of sin is death! Ask King David, or Samson what it was like to walk in immorality and anger the Most High with their sins.

Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge. Hebrews 13:4
