Now the works (deeds or fruit) of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery. Galatians 5:19

In order to walk in the Spirit, one must first cleanse his heart, confess and repent of any sins or transgressions he has committed. You can be born again and still allow sin to remain in your heart so you must ask God to forgive you and cleanse you from all unrighteousness.

We are fruit trees for God and the lusts of the flesh are bad fruit and must be pruned or they could kill the tree because you are known by your fruit! Adultery is common in the world today and is accepted by most to be normal, but in God's eyes, it is a heinous sin and must be repented of! There are two forms of adultery, physical and spiritual. We know that physical adultery is cheating on one's spouse, but spiritual adultery is just as severe.

Jesus said that whoever looks upon a woman (or a man) to lust for them commits adultery in his heart. This is spiritual adultery and is very easy to slip into the temptation to commit this sin, but there is still another. Loving the world is also a form of spiritual adultery and has taken down many a man and woman of God. So with this in mind, cleanse your heart and begin your journey to freedom as we traverse this path to deliverance!

Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity (hostility or animosity) with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. James 4:4

I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. Galatians 5:16

When one is born again he becomes a spiritual being, encased in flesh but free in the Spirit to walk with God. In order to walk in the Spirit one has to deny the lusts and pleasures of the flesh and the Holy Spirit will come alongside and lead you.

For one to walk this narrow road it is imperative they be truly born again and Spirit-filled. I walk most days along a sidewalk, so imagine the path you are attempting to walk is also likened to a sidewalk and that which is on both sides represents the world and the lusts of the flesh. You must be careful to traverse your narrow path with caution so that you don't drift off into the world!

There are many things today that will try and hinder you from walking in the Spirit, "The lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life are just a few, the worries of the world and the cares of this life also will try and choke the spiritual life out of you as spoken of in the parable of the sower."So, if you are ready, take His hand and follow His lead on this spiritual journey that will ultimately lead you to life eternal!

For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh, and these are contrary to one another so that you do not do the things you wish. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. Galatians 5:17,18

"And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name, they will cast out demons, they will speak with new tongues; "they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick and they will recover." Mark 16:17,18

This is what the "Supernatural Church" looks like! Does your church look like this? Our example is the church in Acts, filled with Holy Spirit power and going about with signs, wondersand miracles following them and God was adding to them daily those who were being saved!

These new Spirit-filled believers had walked with Jesus and now they were taking what they had learned to the streets and people were being saved. We have the same Holy Spirit and the same gospel as they had, so what is the difference? Complacency, laziness, or just too busy with life to obey the commands of Christ to go?

I believe it's a combination of things that have hindered the modern-day church from being a Supernatural entity in the earth. The gospel has been sugarcoated and the baptism in the HolySpirit has been neglected to be taught and the traditions of man, handed down for eons has put the church to sleep!

If you are truly born again, filled with the Holy Spirit and desire to be all you can be in Christ, then find a group of people with the same desire, like-minded and fellowship with them. If you are in a man-centered spiritually dead church ask God to direct you to a people, on fire for God, and walk with them! You won't be disappointed! Don't let guilt stop you or anything else that would try and hinder you from being in God's will for your life! May God bless you and lead you in all truth!

So then, after the Lord had spoken to them, He was received up into Heaven and sat down at the right hand of God. And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the Word through accompanying signs. Amen. Mark 16:19,20

"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. "Teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Matthew 28:19,20

Our great commission is to go and make disciples and not church members, teaching them all that Jesus has taught us. The present-day consumer-driven church is involved in inviting people to their church and hoping they get saved when in reality they ought to be making disciples of those they are inviting!

The churches are filled with lost folks who never heard the truth of the gospel, nor were they convicted by the Sunday morning message and many have sat in the pew for years, spiritually blind, deaf, and deceived in regards to the saving of their souls! We are the called of Christ, born again and filled with the Holy Spirit and commanded to make disciples! Sunday school is not discipleship! The making of a disciple takes time and effort and the laying down of one's life for the spiritual growth of another!

Jesus is our example of the making of a disciple, He spent time, day and night with them teaching, training, and leading them in the things of God. Three and a half years of living with these twelve and at the end they became apostles, all but one! On-the-job training is the way we make a disciple of Christ so, Go!

"Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned." Mark 16:15,16

But this I say: "He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully." So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity, for God loves a cheerful giver. II Corinthians 9:6,7

New Testament giving is not bound to a tithe of 10%, it depends on the moving of the Spirit in one's heart that determines the gift to be given! Giving in the Spirit is liberty to those who are still living in bondage under the law!

The apostle Paul taught the Gentile churches to give as the Spirit moved them to meet a need in the church. When one had an abundance he gave to those who were lacking. If we would practice that today we would see great miracles of divine provision. Instead of padding the preacher's pockets and building great and mighty cathedrals of glass and steel we would be contributing to the needs of the people.

True, ministry and overhead demand money, but when the overhead is leading the people to give and not the Holy Spirit it becomes bondage and opens doors to the demonic to bring about pride, greed, and deception! This is a danger for the modern-day church who many times forget the people's needs to pay their humongous overhead!

And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work. II Corinthians 9:8

For I do not mean that others should be eased and you burdened; but by an equality, that now at this time your abundance may supply their lack, that their abundance also may supply your lack that there may be equality. II Corinthians 8:13,14

My first experience with New Testament giving was over forty-one years ago when I entered the Baptist church in my neighborhood. Newly saved I wanted to please God and so I began to tithe which by the way is one of the first things churches teach new converts!

I will never forget my first attempt to give because the only money I had was a hundred dollar bill that I had made that week cutting scrap metal because I had gone broke due to a $2000.00 a week cocaine addiction. Although there was a war going on in my head when it came time to take the offering I put it all in the plate! That week I made $1000.00 and from that time I began to prosper again and I kept tithing.

As I grew in the Lord and studied His word I noticed the tithe wasn't taught in the New Testament and only mentioned a couple of times and that had to do with the Jews before Jesus went to the cross. The apostle Paul didn't teach the Gentiles to tithe but to be led by the Spirit in their giving. So, "To tithe or not to tithe, that is the question." My answer is, pray and ask the Lord, study and by all means, be led by the Spirit!

As it is written, "He who gathered much had nothing left over, and he who gathered little had no lack." II Corinthians 8:15

Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common, and sold their possessions and goods and divided them among all as anyone had need. Acts 2:44,45

3000 people from out of town had just been saved and were moving to Jerusalem with their families with no job and nowhere to stay! What a glorious problem for the new fledgling church! Imagine 120 taking care of thousands of new converts, selling their possessions, and giving all to the cause of Christ!

Discipleship just took on a new meaning with thousands, hungry for God's word and laying down their jobs and livelihoods to come to Jerusalem to follow Jesus! Over forty years ago in New Albany, Indiana where I was baptized in the Holy Spirit, revival had broken out and people quit their jobs and showed up at the church every morning to pray and then would go out into the streets knocking on doors and telling people about Jesus and many were saved and healed!

I believe we will see this mighty revival again as things grow worse around the world and the need for salvation becomes man's priority. The power and anointing will be poured out on all of mankind, sweeping millions into the Kingdom of God! Come, Lord Jesus!

So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved. Acts 2:46,47

But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills. I Corinthians 12:11

Everyone who is born again is a member in good standing in the "Church of the Firstborn of Jesus Christ!" There is no other church to join because you are the church! Because of the traditions of men passed down through the ages, church has become a dead religious work without the power and authority of Jesus!

The members of Christ's body each have been given a gift to employ by faith for the edification of all the other members. As the organs of the natural human body all have a function, so also the members of Christ's body have a function too. If all the members are operating in the Spirit and exercising their gifts, the body of Christ will resemble a Supernatural representation of Jesus!

Are you exercising your Gift? Are you baptized in the Holy Spirit? If not, ask the Lord to baptize you with His Holy Spirit and fire! If so, then by faith employ your gift and exercise that which God has given you!

For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many are one body, so also is Christ. For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body. I Corinthians 12:12,13

To another the interpretation of tongues. I Corinthians 12:10

As music has 12 notes, so the body of Christ when in the unity of the Spirit produce a supernatural harmony! When we are in one accord miracles of God's grace abound! I have witnessed this only a few times in my journey, but when it is done according to the moving of Holy Spirit it is a beautiful thing!

Imagine being a part of the original 120 when the Spirit was poured out and tongues of fire appeared over your head. As they went out into the streets they spoke in the people's language who were visiting from out of town and to their amazement 3000 were miraculously saved! God used the most controversial gift to save the lost and illustrate His power and glory!

The scripture encourages us when we assemble to share our gifts with one another and the results of our faith produce excitement and edification, which in turn brings about an awe of God's presence among us.

If anyone speaks in a tongue, let there be two at the most three, each in turn and let one interpret. But if there is no interpreter, let him keep silent in the church, and let him speak to himself and to God. I Corinthians 14:27,28

To another different kinds of tongues. I Corinthians 12:10

Tongues, although a valid gift of the Holy Spirit has really taken a beating from religious critics trying to discredit the gift! The first expression of tongues in the church at Pentecost rendered a harvest of 3000 new converts!

As the scripture states there are various kinds of tongues, some forgiving messages to the body, others are our own personal prayer language between us and the Most High. A person must be baptized in the Holy Spirit to receive the gift of tongues and when he has been filled, anointed, and empowered, by faith he can speak in his heavenly language.

Tongues do not require your mind, it is bypassed and comes forth from your innermost being, like living water it gushes forth without human assistance. When you don't know what to pray your heavenly language will assist you because Holy Spirit knows what you need. Remember, we are spiritual beings transformed by the blood of Jesus and made to be His representatives in the earth today, a supernatural people destined to change the world.

In the law, it is written: "With men of other tongues and other lips I will speak to this people; and yet, for all that, they will not hear me." Says the Lord. Therefore tongues are a sign, not to those who believe but to unbelievers. I Corinthians 14:21,22

To another discerning of spirits. I Corinthians 12:10

Being involved in the ministry of deliverance for forty years has given me insight into the schemes and ploys of the devil. I began like most screaming at the demons inside of folks and conversed with unclean spirits until I realized that Satan is a liar and the father of lies!

One day I was dealing with a woman who had a demon speaking out of her in a male voice. Feeling pretty confident, but still very young in the Lord I commanded the demon to bow his knee before the Lord Jesus Christ! The demon cried out, "No!" After the third time of refusing my command, the Holy Spirit whispered in my heart, "He's bowed three times what else do you want him to do?" Praise God that ended my conversations with devils and now the only thing I tell them is, "Come out!"

We as believers are dealing with entities that have been deceiving mankind for eons. They are masters of disguise and subterfuge in their ongoing quest to destroy us! I don't know whether I have the gift of discerning spirits but I do have the experience to discern them! After years of dealing with them, the Holy Spirit taught me to discern good from evil. If what they are saying out of someone doesn't line up with the Word, it's not of God, it's a demon!

Jesus told His disciples, "I saw Satan fall like lightning from Heaven. "Behold, I give you authority to tread upon serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you." Luke 10:18,19

To another prophecy. I Corinthians 12:10

Prophecy can be likened to the rudder of a sailing ship in that it guides the supernatural church through the seas of people, preaching the gospel and healing the sick. Rather than committees and boards, the Captain (Jesus) sends down the orders and the prophets prophesy His commands.

Although there are many false prophets, the gift of prophecy is a valid and much needed gift to bring edification, exhortation, comfort and direction to the body of Christ. One of the problems today concerning the prophetic gift is the delivery, often given by one person, but the scripture teaches that we are to let two or three prophets speak and let the others judge. This guarantees that the prophecy is true and is of the Holy Spirit and not of the flesh or the devil!

Like the organs in your body, the gifts of the Spirit are so very important for the well being and performance of the body of Christ. The Supernatural Church has suffered great loss over the eons of time because the tradition of men and the doctrines of demons have neglected the gifts or done away with them all together!

Pursue love, and desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy. I Corinthians 14:1

To another the working of miracles. I Corinthians 12:10

Over my forty-year journey with Jesus I have met some really strange folks, some I believe had the gift of working miracles. Usually, someone with this gift is not the greatest or the strongest, but maybe even the weakest member so as not to be prideful about this gift.

You don't hear much about these folks today except for someone being healed or delivered, which are in fact miraculous, but miracles happen all the time. There are stories of some being translated by the Holy Spirit just as Phillip was after he baptized the Ethiopian eunuch and others of lifting cars off of people trapped and still others performing supernatural works!

Remember Jesus said that we would do greater works than He because He ascended to the Father. The Supernatural Church is not a place to go but a Person to be, the exact replica of the Lord Jesus in the earth made up of new creations in Christ!

And those members of the body which we think to be less honorable, on these we bestow greater honor; and our unpresentable parts have greater modesty, but our presentable parts have no need. But God composed the body, having given greater honor to that part which lacks it. I Corinthians 12:23,24

To another gifts of healings by the same Spirit. I Corinthians 12:9

Divine healing is one of the benefits of the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. "By His stripes we are healed!" It is believed that when He was whipped 39 times by the Romans that His blood healed 39 root diseases that cause all sickness, disease and infirmity!

Over the years there have been many with the gift of healing, John G. Lake, Smith Wigglesworth, Oral Roberts and many other anointed servants of the Lord. Jesus healed the sick, the disciples too and millions of others throughout the history of the "Supernatural Church!" Because of the great need of this gift Jesus proclaimed that it is part of our commission to Go!

Jesus said, "You shall lay hands on the sick and they will recover!" Even in the church today there is provision for the healing of God's people when the apostle James said to call for the elders of the church to anoint those who are sick with oil!

Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save (deliver) the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins he will be forgiven. James 5:14,15

To another faith by the same Spirit. I Corinthians 12:9

We who are born again have been given a measure of faith, but there is a gift of faith given to some for the extraordinary works of God. Although there are no limits to the extent that we can walk in faith, there are some who have a supernatural gift!

I believe the apostle Paul had this gift and I also think because the apostles were written about, this is why people thought they were the only ones with supernatural gifts, but that is not true, we all have been gifted! Paul, called to the Gentiles to preach Jesus was a seemingly impossible task for anyone to accomplish.

Although he performed many miracles, healings, deliverance, and even raised the dead, his faith was stretched to the max, being whipped, shipwrecked, stoned, snake-bit, and finally executed for his faith! There are not many who could withstand such trials unless they had a supernatural gift of faith!

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1

To another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit. I Corinthians 12:8

The word of knowledge is that which comes from the all-seeing, all-knowing mind of the Most High! We as believers have the mind of Christ, the ability to know His will for us and to know how He thinks in certain circumstances.

A word of knowledge can be about a person's need to be healed or delivered and is a valuable tool in the ministry of the Lord Jesus. Supernatural knowledge is knowing in the Spirit, in other words, it involves asking for divine revelation and then receiving it in the Spirit! Jesus said, "Ask and it will be given," so when we have a need to know, we ask and the Spirit gives us what we need!

Some say these gifts passed away with the apostles, but if that is true the Holy Spirit would have passed away too! These gifts are as real today for us as they were 2000 years ago, available to all who are new creations in Christ!

Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out. Romans 11:33

For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit. I Corinthians 12:8

The word of wisdom is available to all believers who ask for it and it is that which is needed when we are unable to perceive a certain thing. Notice it is the first spiritual gift given and one of the most valuable to us.

When God asked Solomon what he desired he answered and said, "Wisdom!" Even more than riches Solomon asked for wisdom that God gave him without measure. The word of wisdom is not human genius, and it transcends human insight because it is supernatural in origin, directly from the throne of the Most High!

The apostle Paul stated that the wisdom of this world is foolishness to God and James defines the God-given gift of wisdom as being good and pure and the wisdom of the world being earthly, sensual, and demonic.

But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, then gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy. James 3:17

There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are differences of ministries but the same Lord. And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all. I Corinthians 12:4-7

The glorious gifts of the Holy Spirit are given to those who have been baptized in Him, born again, and washed in the blood of Jesus. They are to be used specifically when the saints assemble together to worship God and to praise His holy name! This time is an intimate time of Koinonia or fellowship, reserved for believers!

Unbelievers are not forbidden to enter, but it should not be encouraged because of unbelief that could quench the moving of the Spirit. It would be like making love to your spouse and inviting the neighbors in to watch! This is the time we come together in the Spirit to exercise our gifts and build up one another as the Holy Spirit moves among us.

Do you see what we have all missed when we assemble every week and listen to a man give a message, sing a few songs, write a check and go home without anyone able to exercise their God-given gifts to the rest of the body? It is a tragedy to miss out on the glorious ministry of the Holy Spirit among His people!

But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills. I Corinthians 12:11
